Hi Steve .....Yes what a game lot's of exciting Football. A very close game with 5 excellent goals. Yes and Bruno's goal was very clever and planned

I think the score was about right but either team could have pinched it.

Iagree with You and Raggy ...I dn't United will go way either in the League or the Cup. But I hope they give us more entertainment.

The best thing about today was that it was a bloody good game of footie. Flippin' soft free kick that provided Bruno with his goal, but what a cracking free kick. Great stuff. When you get a game like that, fought in a really positive, attacking way that's so good to watch, I have to confess that I'm not that bothered who won it. I might be tribal but I'm only a bit tribal. Kudos to both teams - and Man U are getting bloody good to watch...

Looking at the table and recent results my money would be on Man City to gain the title this year unless Liverpool can turn their form round.

I don't think either United or Leicester have what it takes to win the premiership this year.

Two comments from the 800+ in the Guardian following the match report:

Liverpool have a problem with a more park-the-bus side. Atletico was the template. If you cut off opportunities for Liverpool to counter quickly, then you are in a good place as Liverpool don’t seem to know how to breakdown a team that has regrouped in the box.

Reply to that:

This is the best comment of the night. Not difficult to work them out really. Additionally, no VVD and they’re impotent on corners. Teams now know they score late, they keep the concentration for the full game.

Sez it all really. Put ten or eleven behind the ball all match, pack your box and even a Pele, Messi and Best front three would have trouble. It makes for boring football. I blame Liverpool for not being able to find an answer, but I blame the Man Us and the Burnleys and any team that is run by Mourinho of this world for boring the arse off us. Pack the box and hope for the counter that just might get you that one goal (even if it's a non-penalty as last night). One thing you can say about Klopp's time at Liverpool is that he's given us positive, seat-of-the-pants footie. Even when they're winning 3-0 with five minutes to go, they are still attacking. Ultimately it's the fans who pay all those billions, so he knows that it's the least we deserve.

We've been sussed. Low block, pack the box, park the bus. The team are losing heart. A couple of seasons ago we blitzed the opposition in the first 15 or 20 minutes, got goals and forced the other team to come out and play. We have got to get an early goal.

Another black night for Liverpool, that's just 3 points from the last possible 15.

Last year I had a dream that Burnley would beat Liverpool and placed a small bet on it. Seems I did it a year too soon.

I was an odd one. Shrewsbury born but I think living in North Wales when I first took an interest in football. The Norwich connection comes from my father who's family have a long history in the city. I think in childhood, there was perhaps a sense of pride in being different to the rest.

I think most football support around the Llandudno area went to the big Manchester and Liverpool Clubs. I can't think of any I knew off hand that supported Wrexham who were the only N Wales league side.

There was someone my age and at one time (family moved to Llandudno Junction) from my village and primary school who got to be on Wrexham's books though. He didn't quite make it but I think played a couple of games for the first team.

You're so right Steve. Nearly everyone here in Norfolk identifies with the team and many wear the colours (yellow and green) when out shopping. It's a cultural focus.
Our song "On the ball City!" is apparently the oldest in history.
(I love hearing the last line sung in Broad Norfolk : "Hurrah! We've scored a goool!"
A house on the corner of our small village-in-the-sticks has a flagpole in the garden, and when Norwich City are playing they hoist the Canaries flag.
Husband often embarrasses me in the supermarket when he spots someone wearing a City scarf or cap. He yells " Come on you Yellows!" but they always laugh and give him the thumbs up.
Oh I do hope we go back up, even if only temporarily!

I think it's great that the Canaries are doing so well that they'll be coming back up (barring disasters). I spent half my life as an urbanite, cosseted by the abundance of big club football teams all around. When I lived up north I was in easy reach of Man U, Man City, Bolton Wanderers (then a force to be reckoned with), Bury, Rochdale, Oldham Athletic, Preston North End, Burnley, Blackburn Rovers and others I may have forgotten, and the Merseyside clubs weren't much further away either. A positive cornucopia. Here in the Westcountry, west of Bristol (which takes over two hours for us to get to, and they don't even have Premier League teams in any case), it's lamentable that all we have are Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle, both permanently languishing in lower divisions and both over an hour away from me. A good top-divisions football club can be the heart and soul of a community (and to hell with the naysayers!) and you should treasure the Canaries!

Probably the biggest name Norwich had and within my memory (in fact I was much keener then) was Martin Peters. Presumably past his West Ham and Spurs best but a great asset to Norwich. You will probably still hear people say “what we need is another Martin Peters” – not too expensive but with a wealth of experience and skill but they may also debate as to whether you can find such a player now?

Husband has bought online some very fancy face masks in Canary colours. And he swathes himself in his Norwich City scarf for our trip to the supermarket. Looks a bit odd with his flowing African robes, but rather nice just the same! "Come on you Yellows!"

According to husband, Norwich City has now 50 points and is top of their League. If this continues they might 'go up' again to Premier League. But then they might 'go down' again, which they did last time.
He says they should buy some better players to maintain their place in League One.

Liverpool's front three are looking blunt. Unfortunately, because we've lost Matip, Virgil and Joe Gomez, we've had to push our key midfielders, Hendo and Fab, into more defensive roles. Trent and Robbo can no longer be as adventurous with their runs and crosses from the flanks. The front three are off-key anyway, but they are also being starved of the inspired supply from midfield and those flanks. We need Thiago to stay fit and bed in quickly. United's alleged key three front men, Marcus, Martial and Bruno, were all extremely unimpressive yesterday. A decent defence can handle the opposition's bus-parking and hopeful occasional counter-attacks, and there was a lot of bus-parking going on. Not a great game, was it?

Pool Looked the better at the beginning,, but at the e end United   
could and should have done.

City are the biggest threat now in m'humble. They are back on song and Pep is paying a lot more attention to defence. The game on Sunday is crucial for Liverpool, and they are NOT on song! I still think that Man U are a long way from the finished article, as with Spurs. Heavy reliance on your two or three best players can work for a while, but if one of 'em goes off the boil or gets injured... You wouldn't rate Man U's chances if Bruno was out for a couple of months, would you? But Ole is doing a grand job and seems to be getting Pogba purring. It's gotta be either Man U or Liverpool this season: no bloody oil club, and no way, José!

Last night Man United pushed Liverpool off the top Of the League.

They beat Burnley in a dour game . United wasted several chances until Pogba finished a superb goat from a Rashford cross.

United dominated the game preventing Burnley any chance of even getting
a of getting a shot in.

I hope we can do the same to Liver pool at the weekend.

Don't want to go too hyper about this, but the FA Cup third round game at Villa tonight was a bloody wonderful moment for sport. Villa had to put out a total youth team after their first team, and most of the management, were floored by coronavirus issues. Klopp was respectful in putting out a really strong lineup. Milner, Gino, Hendo, Mo, Fab, Bobby, Thiago, Shaq, Minamino and Sadio were all on show. The young Villa lads (a few of them were so young that their dads had to drop them off at the ground, as many hadn't passed their driving tests yet) put in a helluva great first-half performance. Louie Barry, aged 17, humbled Liverpool with a superb equaliser just before half-time. How good was it to see the ref walking back to the circle after that goal, grinning at Louie like a bloody Cheshire Cat! The Liverpool greats really had to get their act together after the break to beat, but not humble, the Villa lads, and they did it (eventually) in a really good, friendly spirit (though, as ever, taking no prisoners). So respectful. What a brilliant night for sport. Yet we could easily be facing another footie lockdown...Hard times of old England... :-(

Man U have got to get away from pinning their hopes on one or two (Bruno, for example). Spurs are currently making the same mistake with Son and Kane. I, for my sins, support Sheffield United. I think it's a real shame that a club who should never have been relegated (yah booh West Ham!), and who took so long to haul themselves back up from the lower divisions, and who looked so promising last season, are right back down the bottom again. I guess the other teams have just worked out how to play them. And they desperately need a decent goalscorer.

It is something that we Man U supporters have been waiting for....too   Long.

I have watched both Liverpool and United recently and I think that United have improved

United have improved quite a lot while Liverpool have dropped off
somewhat.

I know we have a way to go but they can give it a real go.

I think there is some problems in the dressing room with some of their best players are involved.

Long way to go yet but I wait expectively......

I'm from Radcliffe, which is a lot nearer to Bury, Bolton, Oldham and Rochdale than to Old Trafford, and in any case it's a tribal thing in me family. Man U won't win the league because they are far too immature as a team, they rely far too much on Pogba, Marcus and Bruno, and Ole can't seem to get the consistent best out of the likes of Martial. They're good but not good enough, not yet...
