Haven't seen one yet but my wife is an enthusiastic gritter spotter and it can't be long. Most snow in Scotland right now is above any road. The Edinburgh trams were halted by flooding in Princes Street this morning. Does anybody name pump trucks? |

Not here in Texas, all they have are sand trucks and trucks with multi-spigotted sprayers to apply a salty chemical on roadways. Charmion moved this year - are you in an area that needs as many snowplows? Is there less lake effect snow in Ottawa? Keberoxu also moved, but is (I believe) in the same town. Do you have snowplows? |

According to BBC Red Button, there's been a competition for naming the newest leaf-removing vehicle. Runners-up included Leaf-Fall Weapon, Pulp Friction and The Autumn Avenger; the winner was the magnificent Ctrl Alt Deleaf. |

The nearest large city to where I am staying, is infamous for two things: the lack of salt to melt the ice on the roads in winter, and the potholes that form when the temperatures get warmer. Love the pothole-relevant names as well. |

One morning when about an inch of the white stuff fell, but was gone by lunchtime. But every week since November there have been headlines such as “600 mile snowbomb to hit UK” or “Forecasters predict exact date snow will arrive in Edinburgh”………but nothing! The lack of snow has meant that they have been able to complete a proper resurface of a half mile section of main road near us, after its potholes shredded hundreds of tyres: took 4 weeks, working through the nights too, so here’s some names for resurfacing machinery.
