Subject: Lyr Req: The Great Foot Race indecipherable line! From: GUEST,Ron Wood Date: 03 Feb 18 - 11:54 AM Hi all, Trying to learn the words to The Great Foot Race as sung by Martyn Wyndham-Read on English Sporting Ballads LP (Side one, track 4) I can decipher verse five as follows: "The distance that these two men ran was a hundred and sixty yards And Clogger beat his man that day by fully seven yards. And Clogger he has won the race and shown long Dick fine fun, And sent him home and his backers too, all ??????" Any ideas about the last few words please? Ta! x |
