Subject: Tech: Domain transfer EPP IPS - WTF? From: Mr Red Date: 06 Mar 18 - 07:30 AM Having recently transferred StroudCeilidhs.co.uk from one host to another I am shaking my head in disbelievement. OK read the from host's help files, ask question on-line. read the to host's blurb, rang them up. Waited for the reported and publish instruction for the EPP** e-mail. did the appropriate thing, found the to host was then showing it as a parked domain. After the published 6 day latency - contacted the from host & to host only to find I had used the IPS** which I didn't see mentioned in the help files. EPP** is a release code the from send that you give to the to. To speed things up and bypass that, you can give the from an IPS** and as long as you know the meaning of the thing and you see it mentioned as IPS** you can pass go and ....... Then all you have to do is point the domain at the content, when it appears in their "control panel". But in the process of speeding the sequence, domain hosts seem to have not updated their help files in a way that is obvious. RTFM** only works if they have engaged their brains as well! **other acronyms/intialisms are available |
