Subject: Origins: Whalerman James Barclay
From: GUEST,Martin Gittins

The late lamented Mike Canavan of Manchester UK sang a song in the70s/80s about a (true?) stpry of a man being swallowed by a whale. the chorus ran; Whalerman James Barclay, strange to tell your tale. Thrown into the ocean, and swallowed by a big sperm whale.
I believe he wrote it, but his son, Steve, has no knowledge of it. Can anyone throw any light on the origins and, better still, provide the full lyrics?
