Some time ago I heard a song about a woman who was making use of a vibrator but it couldn't be shut off.Consequently she ran off squealing.Has anyone ever heard of this song? Unfortunately I do not remember the correct title or the lyrics. If you don't know of the song perhaps you know some about didoes or condoms? I'm in the mood for bawdy songs today!

I know one that starts

"There was an engineer who died
And left hi wife unsatisfied..."

Not very nice, I'm afraid - misspent youth!

Oh dear, I know that one Jim! But it went,

An engineer told me before he died (ah hum...)
And I have no reason to believe he lied etc.

But the unstoppable 'vibrator' was driven by steam...

hee hee

Try the following in the DT 'The Prick of Steel' or 'The Bloody Great Wheel' or 'The Wheel'. That should bring up lots of versions.

The song is usually called "The Bloody Great Wheel." Many, many versions are online.

It seems to date from the nineteenth century.

"Oh dear, I know that one Jim! But it went,"
You should be ashamed of yourself

oh I am Jim, I am! Misspent youth I'm afraid! In other words the Student Union Bar in Edinburgh Uni in the early sixties, rugby songs roared out nightly.

THere's a twenty-odd page chapter of songs and stories just like this in Gershon Legman's 'No Laughing Matter - 'Dirty dirty jokes' under the title 'The Mechanical Man'
Legman conveniently put all the jokes in his large tome into italics so, when I first got it I just skipped through them
Many years later I sat down for a month or so and read it fully - well worth the effort

I used to like very much the song 'Large Balls' especially the line "With a singular twist of his muscular wrist he threw them over his head. Tararaboom!"
I'm laughing here because I just tried to google the lyrics and up came a lot of references to 'Repetitive Strain Injury'! Hahahaha!

I'd call "The Wheel" less of a "mechanical man" song than a "mal mariee'" song (amative wife, incapable husband).

Hate to say it, but it has all the characteristics of a "Child ballad" - one of the very last, for sure.

Before these 'self-help' songs ride off into the sunset, does anyone remember the complete version of the Funiculì, Funiculà 'Swing it, fling it' parody?
I remember a two-part verse and a chorus - I seem to remember there was more
I started to write down all of the parodies I remembered from my teens in a notebook, but when Pat came across it she decided I was entering my second letchood so I desisted

I'm sorry to say I know this one too Jim.
If you go to lionslair.com masterbation song (yes, that spelling!) the lyrics are there.
Please don't tell the Vicar.

I unfortunately had a rather drunken Scottish boyfriend in Edinburgh, and he exerted much energy in 'educating' me by taking me along to these sessions. I was enchanted and earnestly learned all the words.
I was only seventeen, tiny, skinny with waist-length hair, and very innocent.
Now I have to be content with rude Malinke words taught to me by my husband. Sadly he doesn't know any naughty songs. :(

The tune we sang it to was 'Froggy Went A-Courting'.

The usual older tune (without the "titty-bum" refrains) was the hymn tune "Old Hundredth."

Other hymn tunes have been used as well.

Ah, that's 'All People That On Earth Do Dwell'.
I always imagined these rugger songs to have been started by Eton lads or similar, as they have an Upper Class ring to them, and use, as you say, various hymn tunes. They sound quite 'posh' to me!

Is there a singable version of the "magic penis stop" joke?
