Subject: Sally Sloane's 'Bold MacGuinness' air From: Ian Hayden Date: 22 Apr 18 - 08:58 PM Sally Sloane was recorded singing a verse of this slow air and then she played the melody on fiddle. Listen here Evidently John Meredith was given the title 'Bold MacGuinness' but I don't think its the song known as Bold Maginnis/McGinnis. Can anyone shed more light on this air? The recording sounds like its in Fm but I've transcribed it into Dm, assuming that was the fingering she was using on her fiddle. In abc format: X:1 T:Bold McGuinness S:slow air, sung and played on fiddle by Sally Sloane L:1/8 M:3/4 K:Cmaj DC|A,2D2-DE|D2 D2EF|G2G2G2|C2-C2DE| F2G2A>B |c2A2ED|E2D2D2|D4 AB|] |c2E2c2|B2A3G|A2D2B,2|C4 DE| |F2G2A>B |c2A2ED|E2D2D2|D6|] |
