Subject: RE: Important English Folk Websites From: FreddyHeadey Date: 23 Apr 18 - 02:11 PM Great idea Bigger Al. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Some updates for that page Joe British Music Hall Society seems now to be www.britishmusichallsociety.com/ The Karen & Colin Thompson by link is dead. The http://www.realukmusic.co.uk link is dead. South Yorkshire Folk http://www.syfolk.co.uk says "under construction" ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ If you start to get lots of links I wonder if it would make sense to have a separate page for artists. Aditions of links for the more academic information sites would be great. I'd been putting regional organisations onto a map. https://ukfolklinks.wordpress.com I've noticed that some websites stray off into other genres or are quite ambiguous about what might be found there. They just grow'd, like Topsy. I think I've got links there to sites listing sea\shanty terms. Do you want that that sort of thing ? |

Subject: Important English Folk Websites From: Big Al Whittle Date: 23 Apr 18 - 02:38 AM It seems to me we should make a list of important English folk websites. This list would be useful to artists and club and festival organisers as well as rank and file folk fans who just want to find out where the action is in their areas, or where they are going on vacation. Any supporters of the idea? |
