Conversely, anyone do any Motown down the folk club? IIRC Phil Hare used to do a splendid version of Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition'.

Just listening to some old Motown stuff and have, so far, come across 'Blowin' in the wind' by Stevie Wonder and 'If I was a carpenter' by the Four Tops.

Any other examples of Folk(ish) songs being given the Motown treatment?

FWIW I quite like both the above mentioned versions.
