Spending a holiday on the Isle of Mull and have found several pubs with live music. Does anyone know of one where visitors can join in?

Don't they have sessions in The Craignure Inn? I visited quite a few years ago when I was part of the crew of the tall-ship, "Malcolm Miller", and I'm pretty certain when I went in there with Lester Simpson there was a session going on which we both joined in with.

Gee, I thought the only place on Mull that had people, was Tobermory. We didn't find any music but had lots of singers in our group, so we made our own.
I hope somebody is able to give us a more comprehensive view of Music on Mull.

I worked as a labourer in 1961 building the pier at Craignure. On Saturday nights we had a ceilidh in Salen with dancing and music. I lived in a caravan high above Tobermory and was collected by the work van in the morning. Great fun but the cold and midgies were no compensation. I don't remember a Caraignure Inn, just a post office/grocery shop.

idk

I wonder if it's worth asking in some of the Tobermoray venues that had a festival last weekend, they might have some local contacts?

My aunt and uncle ran the Craignure Inn in the 70s. They had some pretty famous folk in at times. Robert Plant was one and Robert Wagner. My cousin went back and run it for a while just about a decade ago. About 30 years since I've been to Mull though. We went over to Iona and from there we got the wee boat out past the Treshnish Islands to land on Staffa. Fingal's Cave and walking amongst the puffins. wonderful place.

Couldn't say how regular these are but on previous trips to Mull, we have enjoyed music in the Mishnish Arms in Tobermory, and in Dervaig, at the hall near the pub there. However, these were not join-in sessions.
Yes, and do take the boat trip out from Ulva to the Treshnish Islands: Lunga is the next one on from Staffa with all the puffins. Good time of year to see them before they all take to the water in later summer.
