Subject: RE: BS: Happy Star Wars Day From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 04 May 18 - 08:04 PM Star Wars is fun, but if I had to choose, it'd always be Star Trek for me. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Star Wars Day From: Steve Shaw Date: 04 May 23 - 01:29 PM I've never watched Star Wars and I know nothing about it whatsoever. The other week I did accidentally watch that film with the huge spidery things with snakey arms that eventually died after throwing up out of their spaceship. I think it had Tom Cruise in it, a man about whom I know nothing. I've never watched a single minute of East Enders or the now-defunct Neighbours. I watched Star Trek a lot, and Doctor Who when I was little. This post contains no braggadocio. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Star Wars Day From: Steve Shaw Date: 04 May 23 - 01:38 PM I watched "2001" several times and loved it, though I struggled to forgive Stanley for using the Blue Danube recording by the Nazi Herbert Von Karajan. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Star Wars Day From: Dave the Gnome Date: 04 May 23 - 02:47 PM You would like "The Orville" if you liked the original Star Trek, Steve. I just finished the first series and the nods to Star Trek are many. Seth MacFarlane, a TV genius in my opinion, had a lot to do with it as well as taking the lead role. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Star Wars Day From: MaJoC the Filk Date: 16 May 23 - 04:51 AM During the first (UK) run of Babylon 5, I was contemplating the difference between it and Star Trek. I came up with the following definition:
Let battle commence. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Star Wars Day From: Dave the Gnome Date: 16 May 23 - 12:28 PM I can highly recommend "The Orville". Seth MacFarlane's new SciFi. Lots of nods to Star Trek and even one to Star Wars in the episode I saw last night :-D |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Star Wars Day From: Dave the Gnome Date: 17 May 23 - 04:57 AM I keep wanting to type Seth Lakeman instead of MacFarlane! |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Star Wars Day From: Dave the Gnome Date: 22 May 23 - 06:58 AM The Orville just gets better and better. While the show is decidedly light and humorius, the topics covered are far deeper than you would imagine from a SciFi. |
