On the Road to Mandalay, by John Roberts and Tony Barrand with Tony singing lead. If you've enjoyed their work over the years this live performance from a couple of years ago will mean as much to you as it does to me.

First, a beautifully sung setting of a Jack Sorenson poem "CONDAMINE BELLS" by Chloe & Jason Roweth, Down Under :

And then a sadly beautiful song called "THE VALLEY BELOW" about the apparently still taboo subject, of post- natal depression :

Trigger warning: This song contains content relating to experiences of perinatal mental illness.

One of those performers who seems to be everywhere and involved in everything, is Sally Rogers. Since March, she has been performing one song a day on Facebook and YouTube, in her "A Song a Day Keeps the Virus Away" series. Take a look:Oh, and she teaches a great music theory class - I attended at least a couple of her classes at the Getaway in Maryland over the years.

I am a big fan of the Newfoundland trio "The Once" - ever since seeing them at The Woodford Folk Festival in Qld, Australia - maybe 10 years ago.

This is just one of many excellent songs :

and this is the original by Amelia Curran, with lyrics -
"What Will You Be Building (when you have to go)"

Above thread from me. Typing error, "Nger" please delete.
I have so much trouble typing on a Tablet.

The only format I have to get on-the interney with.
No Smart Phone, computer or lap top.

Difficult typing on this older model Tablet and letters you type sometimes jump all over the place and tricky to control.

Hi Joe Offer,
Nger
I posted information on June 24, 2020 about a New Jersey singer songwriter named Mike Sinatra. I recommended two songs to listen
to, "I Don't Know Why" a Mike Sinatra original and one cover song
of John Denver's, "This Old Guitar"
I don't know how to post the link that you can just click on to
take you right to those songs as other people do on their posts.

Joe, can you please help me with this and write the link out on my post
when you have time?
Thank you in advance.
Lin

That Dr Hook is a real gem - thanks Ake!

My YT Algo-Feed has recently brought me some finds like these :

from Zimbabwe :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VlhPd9OiIQ&list=RDMM4VlhPd9OiIQ&start_radio=1
Sweetest Song I Know - ARMOR MUSIC MINISTRY

and from Kenya :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKgLYRxZpZY
Sweet Forever - ODONGO'S FAMILY CHOIR

and meanwhile, two ALL - a cappella harmony ensembles with great singers and stunning beatboxers, that have fast become My Favourites : Home Free and VoicePlay.
Though the two tracks below are just my current faves, their variety of material and huge repertoire is actually amazing and I haven't yet found anything that these U.S. groups do, that is not excellent!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjdDbtXau8k
Tennessee Whiskey - VOICE PLAY cover

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e9DSdkRQu4
Blue Ain't Your Color - HOME FREE cover

Hope you enjoy these too!

I have been listening to a singer/songwriter from New Jersey
named Mike Sinatra. He does both original and cover songs.
There is a lot of songs he performs on Youtube but to just
give two songs that are very good to get a feel for his style are,

"We Don't Know Why" (Mike Sinatra original) and "This Old Guitar",
a John Denver cover.

Sorry, I don't know how to write a direct link to hear these two particular songs so maybe someone can provide the link or just go to Youtube and type in the name Mike Sinatra and search for the titles of the two songs I suggested above.
See what you think of this performer.
