Subject: RE: Favourite all time youtube performances From: GUEST,Lin Date: 01 Jul 20 - 10:59 PM Hi Joe Offer, Nger I posted information on June 24, 2020 about a New Jersey singer songwriter named Mike Sinatra. I recommended two songs to listen to, "I Don't Know Why" a Mike Sinatra original and one cover song of John Denver's, "This Old Guitar" I don't know how to post the link that you can just click on to take you right to those songs as other people do on their posts. Joe, can you please help me with this and write the link out on my post when you have time? Thank you in advance. Lin |
Subject: RE: Favourite all time youtube performances From: GUEST,Lin Date: 01 Jul 20 - 11:06 PM Above thread from me. Typing error, "Nger" please delete. I have so much trouble typing on a Tablet. The only format I have to get on-the interney with. No Smart Phone, computer or lap top. Difficult typing on this older model Tablet and letters you type sometimes jump all over the place and tricky to control. ?? |
Subject: RE: Favourite all time youtube performances From: rich-joy Date: 02 Jul 20 - 12:12 AM I am a big fan of the Newfoundland trio "The Once" - ever since seeing them at The Woodford Folk Festival in Qld, Australia - maybe 10 years ago. This is just one of many excellent songs : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkjlQ2S3CPw&list=OLAK5uy_luCYBKihGY6gADWS7y3yKi3Iuou5ayy2I&index=5 and this is the original by Amelia Curran, with lyrics - "What Will You Be Building (when you have to go)" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNMtSwrlJEw Cheers, R-J |

Subject: RE: Favourite all time youtube performances From: Joe Offer Date: 02 Jul 20 - 04:43 PM One of those performers who seems to be everywhere and involved in everything, is Sally Rogers. Since March, she has been performing one song a day on Facebook and YouTube, in her "A Song a Day Keeps the Virus Away" series. Take a look:Oh, and she teaches a great music theory class - I attended at least a couple of her classes at the Getaway in Maryland over the years. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: Favourite all time youtube performances From: rich-joy Date: 24 Nov 20 - 07:36 PM Time to Refresh this Thread!! First, a beautifully sung setting of a Jack Sorenson poem "CONDAMINE BELLS" by Chloe & Jason Roweth, Down Under : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3L2ldYYeCQ And then a sadly beautiful song called "THE VALLEY BELOW" about the apparently still taboo subject, of post- natal depression : Oneewa and Shara, Blackbird Songwriting https://www.facebook.com/blackbirdson... www.blackbirdsongwriting.com.au Trigger warning: This song contains content relating to experiences of perinatal mental illness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcAILKuNHAQ&feature=youtu.be R-J |
