Subject: RE: Favourite all time youtube performances From: rich-joy Date: 25 May 20 - 09:13 AM Only just got to listen to these offerings! Some good stuff there, including some artists I'd not heard of - and thank you, Peter Laban, for your post on 18May2018, which introduced me to the wondrous world of Rushad Eggleston, haha!!! I don't have a "favourite all time youtube performance" - SOOOO much good music in the world, it's just too hard to choose. HOWEVER, here is a track that has recently caught me by surprise, coz I find myself listening to it at least every few days. It's by the Birmingham (UK) a cappella harmony group "Sons of Pitches" and they cover JP Cooper & Stormzy's "Momma's Prayers" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er2qkl9CI7k&list=PLXpHBAJB6ElbPM2tKHzar5I0i5QBxtHcz Of course it won't be everyone's cup-of-tea, but it moves me! Cheers, R-J |

Subject: RE: Favourite all time youtube performances From: GUEST,Lin Date: 24 Jun 20 - 12:40 AM I have been listening to a singer/songwriter from New Jersey named Mike Sinatra. He does both original and cover songs. There is a lot of songs he performs on Youtube but to just give two songs that are very good to get a feel for his style are, "We Don't Know Why" (Mike Sinatra original) and "This Old Guitar", a John Denver cover. Sorry, I don't know how to write a direct link to hear these two particular songs so maybe someone can provide the link or just go to Youtube and type in the name Mike Sinatra and search for the titles of the two songs I suggested above. See what you think of this performer. |
Subject: RE: Favourite all time youtube performances From: rich-joy Date: 24 Jun 20 - 08:52 PM That Dr Hook is a real gem - thanks Ake! My YT Algo-Feed has recently brought me some finds like these : from Zimbabwe : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VlhPd9OiIQ&list=RDMM4VlhPd9OiIQ&start_radio=1 Sweetest Song I Know - ARMOR MUSIC MINISTRY and from Kenya : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKgLYRxZpZY Sweet Forever - ODONGO'S FAMILY CHOIR and meanwhile, two ALL - a cappella harmony ensembles with great singers and stunning beatboxers, that have fast become My Favourites : Home Free and VoicePlay. Though the two tracks below are just my current faves, their variety of material and huge repertoire is actually amazing and I haven't yet found anything that these U.S. groups do, that is not excellent! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjdDbtXau8k Tennessee Whiskey - VOICE PLAY cover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e9DSdkRQu4 Blue Ain't Your Color - HOME FREE cover Hope you enjoy these too!
