Hallo all , it´s been a quite long time I have posted things about folk music , but I would like to tell you about this Vaka Folk Festival in Akureyri North of Iceland , it´s held in May/June and it´s quite young festival it started 2014 and has been ever since , I will paste a link here , I am still playing music and making new music , there are two other Festivals in Iceland , Reykjavík Folk in March every year in Reykjavík and folk Festival in a place Called Siglufjorðdur in North of Iceland ,

I thought about the Siglufjorðdur one - then checked the price of accommodation. No way!

Yes the accommodation price is some thing the Icelander´s
have to think about getting lower , and I think they will in coming time , the action USA is going to put on IRAN is going to
have a problem for us here in Iceland , Gasoline price will go up
fewer turiste will come , and the flight cost will go up , this is not good for us , this is bad new ´s .

Strangely there was a report tonight (22nd May 2018) on the BBC that Iceland was actively discouraging tourists because they could not cope with them.

The Icelandic Prime Minister was on and promised that the infrastructure problem would be addressed by her government and all would be well - but not today!

Jabb that´s true the infrastructure problem is huge , every thing is damaged after the 2008 crises , hospital´s , health care , police , our roads all this is not good , I think the Eastern Region has had smallest part of the tourist to visit , why I have no idea maybe they lead people only to place´s that want them to go ? . I live here in the Eastern Region of Iceland at the moment , but my home town is in the Westfjord´s of Iceland , there are the same problem .

Shame on our Prime Minister and our government .
