Since the time when the universe was a grain of sand size it has doubled in size only about 100 times. The expansion is forever.

My geometric interpretation of dark energy will be more clear to a few using Einstein field equations and Freidman's equation. If you recall I postulated the idea that the increase in black holes over time has increased pressure to power a runaway expanding universe.

A video helps to point out this BH interpretation (actually the 6 part series is best) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwYSWAlAewc&list=PLsPUh22kYmNA6WUmOsEEi32zi_RdSUF4i&index=5

Look for p in the FREIDMAN equation (not to be confused with rho);^/

The key is that the outward antigravitational p pressure force is connected to the inward pressure force at the singularity center of evermore increasing BHs. What we can not observe is the stopping of time and the growing of space. It is not intuitive but BHs may be the factories of anti gravity.

This works as long as the universe is flat and the result of the freidman equation with a cosmological constant is positive.

I couldn't solve an Einstein field equation if my life depended on it
but the Friedman equation in simple english is fun.

Just in case this is a language you get, I thought I'd throw this dart in the dark.

Always pre-supposing the initial comment:
Since the time when the universe was a grain of sand size it has doubled in size only about 100 times. The expansion is forever.
Which is still a theory.

If the initial premise is incorrect, the rest makes no sense.

2 to the power 100 equals (about) 10 to the power 30. Which is not out of kilter with current inflationary theory, which is an expansion of about 10 to the power 26 very early (the first 10 to the power -32 seconds), then a more gradual expansion, then acceleration. I would quibble with Donuel's use of the word "only" though, 10 to the power 30 is an awful lot of expansion.

The video is interesting, Matt O'Dowd is a credible astrophysicist, but I don't think he really makes this subject accessible for the non-specialist (which includes me). And I think the clever graphics tend to distract from the explanations rather than clarify them.

Matt goes 10 to the 5th too fast for me to understand but with enough space time he can teach an old dog to write Feynman diagrams.

Have you noticed we say space time instead of timespace?

There is a good reason for that since inside a boundary horizon of a black hole space and time start to flip and lets time to become navagatable in space but with only one assured destination. At the final stage all time could convert to space. Energy and mass can also convert to each other. If time can convert to space at a singularity perhaps gravity can also convert to anti gravity fields of space (dark energy}

Nigel to be a decent sci fi fantacist it helps to know the "grains" of truth and the genius men behind the important equations and what they all do uniquely in the fields of QED and relativity. I hope for a quantum spark to reveal a relationship of particle fields, space time, gravity and mass to a credible possible voyage people might enjoy. Jules Verne did it 100 years beyond his time. In the oceans of space its more challenging.

by the way for a singularity to go from an atom to the size of a grain of sand, the grain of sand would have about five square miles of accompagning space. There are better ways of saying this but definitions can be boggeling like the average density of the universe is about 5 hydrogen atoms per cubic meter.

Space ain't it grand?

Deterministic pilot wave interpretation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlXdsyctD50

I have seen at great length the oil drop bounce on pilot waves.
I have to admit it is easy to believe the Bohm theory after watching it work before my naked eyes.

Speaking of random quantum events, Dennis Rodman arrived at thr North Korea summit today. Success polls for the summit went up.

We know what is happening. No one really knows how or why.

Sounds like you have a premise equal to everyone else Mr. Red shift,
