I'm glad that I'm not alone in enjoying John Denver's singing!

I have the full set I think. Brilliant singer and songwriter. In all my years as a UK "folkie" I have never heard him maligned but I have heard many of his songs sung in clubs and at festivals.

John was terrific. I recall Tom Paxton saying that he wished he had John's voice.
John never received the praise he deserved. The Rock and Country critics, in particular, were really unpleasant to him. They just didn't get it.

Johnny Coppin has a similar type of pure voice.

Often maligned by the UK "folkie" crowd; but that's what they do.

I wonder what happened to the BBC "In Concert" programmes he did with backing musicians such as Eric Weisberg.

Seeing him on "The Muppet Show" as a youngster, and learning more about him over the years, was absolutely formative in my development into a singer, writer and peace activist.
