Subject: RE: BS: Hurricane Florence From: Donuel Date: 12 Sep 18 - 12:34 PM The federal grapevine is saying that the diaster preparedness group and the Public Health Service have not been called upon ??? |
Subject: RE: BS: Hurricane Florence From: leeneia Date: 12 Sep 18 - 10:01 AM Thanks for your concern, Senoufou. I have a sister-in-law in South Carolina, but she has left home to visit friends inland. She's not on the coast, so her house should be all right. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hurricane Florence From: Donuel Date: 11 Sep 18 - 09:33 PM 9.8 million dollars was legally taken From FEMA to give to ICE to build internment camps for children. Trump and Sessions are doing one heckofa job already. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hurricane Florence From: Charley Noble Date: 11 Sep 18 - 08:07 PM Amos is right on the main route, and Bob Zentz and Jeanne McDougall Zentz are also in the danger zone adjacent to Virginia Beach in Norfolk, VA. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hurricane Florence From: Jack Campin Date: 11 Sep 18 - 01:16 PM With South Carolina having a state government that officially denies climate change - good luck, everybody, you're going to need it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hurricane Florence From: Senoufou Date: 11 Sep 18 - 01:13 PM I hope you're right Donuel. But I have been following an update by a weather centre out there, and it says it's a Category 4 possibly 5, with winds of 130mph gusting to 160mph. It will reach the coast on Thursday/Friday. They did say about a million people face mandatory evacuation. Stay safe everyone in that area! |
Subject: RE: BS: Hurricane Florence From: Donuel Date: 11 Sep 18 - 10:04 AM Its always the floods that follow that create the most devestation and loss of life. That area near the coast is often built on pillars to allow for storm surge. Evacuation routes are clearly marked. US Naval vessels are all putting out to sea to avoid the storm. Locals are well practiced to respond to hurricanes. |
Subject: BS: Hurricane Florence From: Senoufou Date: 11 Sep 18 - 07:02 AM I see on the News that there's a very severe hurricane heading for some of the eastern states of USA (Virginia, Carolina for example), and that some areas are being evacuated. Just wanted to say I hope all you folks in those parts stay safe and will get through the storm without too much damage. I hate storms and high winds, so I really feel for you. Hang in there! Eliza |
