Here is my good friend Dave Arthur presenting a BBC Schools programme from 1976. He drew my attention to it in an email. It has recently appeared on Youtube. It was devised by Dave along with Bert Lloyd. It covers a great deal in 25 minutes and a lot of what the script says then still holds true and some of the clips of songs and tunes arer priceless:-

Great stuff. Sure, the presentation may seem a bit dated now, but given the music itself is a bit older than 40, that doesn't really matter, does it? A whole series would have been good ...

PFR - let me guess... the obscure label from Weston- s-M would be Ian Anderson's Village Thing Records? The Ian Anderson of fRoots mag, nit the Jethro Tull one.

The original releases of albums by Dave & Toni were:-

Morning Stands On Tiptoe Transatlantic Records         1967                 
The Lark In The Morning album Topic Records 1969                 
Hearken To The Witches Rune Trailer 1971                 
Sing A Story Decca 1977                 
Andy's Gone album (Martyn Wyndham-Read With Dave And Toni Arthur) 1979         

... and they were all released on vinyl.
The only CDs that I know of were re-releases.
Morning Stands On Tiptoe was released on CD by a company called Cherry Tree in 2009 but their address was in London W4
Morning Stands On Tiptoe and The Lark In The Morning were released on a two-LPs-on-one-CD compilation by a company called Wooded Hill but there is no reference to an address in Weston-Super-Mare on the minimal notes on the version that I have. I would really like to have more details of the release that punkfolkrocker refers to. Mike makes a sensible guess that the obscure label from Weston- s-M would be Ian Anderson's Village Thing Records but I am pretty certain that there was never any commercial release on any recordings of D&T by Ian.

All sealed new CDs Total $38.96

So by now I haven't a clue which box or room they are stored in...???

My fairly certain memory is that at least one or two surprised/amused me with an address in Weston..

All the way from the USA back home to seaside Scrumpyshire..

Quite right, Vic - not on the Village Thing label, nor its predecessor, Saydisc, both from the Weston/Bristol area. Ian A. Anderson (to distinguish him from the other) had a then girlfriend who worked at the BBC in the late 60s, and he and buddies from the Pigsty Hill Light Orchestra used to do gigs at the Cousins. I remember a hilarious afternoon with a whole gang of us just bumming around Soho, drinking coffee, having a curry and finishing off at the Cousins.

I booked D&T a coupld of times at the BBC Folk Club ("Clanfolk"), and Dave guested not that long ago at the Brighton Acoustic Session.

I last saw Toni when the London jug band I played in (The Egbert Sousé All Stars) did a gig at Maidstone Prison - our singer, Pete Charlton was a Playaway producer, and Toni was one of the regular performers. Toni opened up for us, and the massive roar that went up in the prison chapel when she went on stage made our job that much easier!

The best pub in Weston - The Raglan Arms - was gutted with fire a few years ago..

It was always worth a trip to the seaside for Friday night lockins with and informal folkie/blues music session,
and Sunday afternoon folk/ old timey, and free cheese platter..

It's effin luxury flats now...

I am not really gunning for you, Mike, but Saydisc was not a predecessor of Village Thing. It was run by Gef Lucana.

How about this!!!
I had just written It was run by Gef Lucana. when the postman knocked at the door with a pack of albums. One of them was a 2018 double CD release called "Traditional Dance Music of Britain & Ireland" on Saydisc. It was compiled by Gef Lucana who still runs the Saydisc label. The pack of CDs has been sent to me for review..... by Ian Anderson of fRoots!!!
Is it a very small pand that we live in?
