Trying to track down this tune's origins. The only version I can find is nothing like the version used by Belfagan Morris. The Reconciliation is NOT the version

I was a Morris musician and dancer for many years, and as far as I'm aware The olive Branch has never been collected as a name for a traditional Morris tune and does not appear in any of the recognized collections.
It is possible that the title "The Olive Branch" is the name the side use for the dance rather than the tune it is danced to, a not uncommon scenario in the Morris world. Have you tried contacting the Morris team concerned via there website or FB page if they have one and asking where they got the tune from??

A hornpipe of the same name appears in a Book called Ryans Massive Collection of fiddle tunes.

Henry Piper,thank you for your comments: the tune is used for the Shawforth Dance by Belfagan in Cumbria but they are uncertain as to its origin: the team is over 40 years old and no-one can remember. It is probably not a traditional morris tune but apart from on a page with Arnold Palmer's Bonfire, and unattributed there, I haven't been able to find this version anywhere else.

Derrick, Thank you for your suggestions. The books mentioned are for sale I am loathe to buy the tunebooks if it doesn't have the right version but thank you, anyway.

It is encouraging to find other people think this is a tricky one, too!

Anyone else got any suggestions?

The other problem with folk tunes is many have more than one name.
Someone may recognise it by ear under a
different name.
Many tunes also have local versions making it difficult to be sure which is
the original.

John Kirkpatrick wrote a tune called The Olive Branch, and I've just had a listen. It's on the Earthling album. It's the same tune
as that in the link given by the OP.
