The Dodgers were in Brooklyn,
and Babe Ruth wore Red Sox,
having yet to become a Yankee.

I was at a music camp this last weekend. We had 55 people at the camp, mostly Quakers. We sang a very enthusiastic "Sweet Caroline," and found out later that right after we sang, the Red Sox scored four runs in quick succession.

I thought they were swell games and from what I could see of the Dodgers and hear of the LA crowd it was a tough yet civilized contest. Left me feeling pretty good, proud of Boston, and friendly toward LA.

Quite a relief from other news.

I watched a little bit here are there, and I enjoyed it. I didn't really favor one side or the other, but I did like that these were two very old teams, each with rich traditions.

So, now it's time for that other Big Game, the one that takes place next week Tuesday on Election Day. That's a game that really matters, but still it's sometimes fun to watch it as a spectator. May justice prevail.

Man oh man! (or as Megyn Kelly would say, "Wow"). Bottom of the 14th inning! I'm glad I bought the Costco version of Irish Cream, less expensive than Bailey's and a full liter more fluidic goodness. Good thing the game's in L A, it's warmer there right now and a blizzard is heading for New England.

Game 3 tied at 2 and 2, soccer type score, and the L A crowd seems to be energetic and civilized, shouting cheerily, the organ player is still doing his job. They've gone through three dozen baseballs. The crowd has done TWO seventh inning stretches.
Times are good.
God bless the Red Sox.

Going to the fifteenth inning as I finish this OP. Still 2 to 2, the longest game in World Series History.

The Red Sox are in California facing the LA Dodgers.
The hotel eatery has television screens.
You should have heard
the roar that came out of the doors

I don't watch many sports - though when I first got a large HD television I found golf to be interesting since you could see the ball fly through the air in a way that the old CRT TVs never allowed.

In the World Series I remember when one beard appeared (the year of the California earthquake during the Series?), probably two decades ago, and it was such an anomaly. Now clean-shaven is scarce.

Joe Kelly was driving me nuts with his slow pace causing batters to step out constantly on a chilly evening in Boston. It was a bit of karmic justice that he got the loss though he only gave up one hit and no earned runs.

It's kind of nice not having to worry about the home team (the Nats) and just being able to enjoy the baseball. Of course, they fired a manager who averaged 96 wins in his 2 year tenure so maybe they got what they deserved but then all the injuries didn't help.

Not only are Americans self centered (re: World Series). You can't get more self centered than one hill in Boston. You see when you use the word 'Yank' on the eastern side of the pond you mean Americans from the USA. When Southerners use it they mean north of the Mason-Dixon Line. North of the Mason Dixon line they mean New England. In New England they mean Massachusetts. In Massachusetts they mean Boston.

In Boston they mean Beacon Hill.

Not for nothing do Bostonians call their environs "The Hub".

There is more superstition about baseball than anything else I know.
Other than the lottery and $40 at a casino once I have never placed a bet on anything. I looked at the gestalt of the whole betting thing and decided it was more harm than good. (once you decide, it collapses the quantum wave)
The Dodgers are a late season hurricane and the Yankees are a home run factory.

Thankfully Baseball is Trump free but people are using baseball analogies; "Trump was born on 3rd base but out of incompetance he went to second base and complained that he had really hit a triple".

Starting at 8PM the glimmer of hope for the Sox will become a bright flash as they will win again 4-3 without extra innings.
I called thier last 4 games correctly. I hope I'm on a roll.
