Well, it's certainly Sir Issac Newton's and the great long lasting jazzman Kid Ory. Any body else? Dr John

Jesus was NOT born on Dec. 25th...read your bible..."and there were sheep in the fields"...obviously he was born sometime in late spring/early summer!

I know this is chosen by Christians to hide a pagan celebration, but it's as good as any other. "May we all eat lamb together in paradise" (but not too soon)that's an ancient Arab blessing by the way. Or were you there when he was born mate? pray tell us the real one. Yours, Aye. Dave

it is a good bet that some Mudcatters were born on Dec 25, given the statistics....but let us not get into debates about biblical accuracy and the historical Jesus...*grin*...

Rick, Bet you he could play a mean "Rams Horn"

*bigger-f'ing-grin* BillD Cheers mate...

I can't stay serious enough for a long debate; appologies to Terry Allan Hall.

My better half missed it by three days, and it's a bugger of a job to find gifts; never mind pay for em! I feel sorry for anyone sharing this birthday; screws up a good excuse for a party later in the year. Yours,Aye. Cordially, Dave

Blessings,
Barbara

Well, let's see. According to my trusty "Daily Bleed" from Dave at Recollection Books in Seattle, others born on this day:

Mithras, the Sun God, or so they said
Jessie Wallace Hughan, founder of the War Resisters League (1875)
Rebecca West (1892)
Humphrey Bogart (1899)
Raphael Soyer (1903)
Rod Serling (1924)
Carlos Castaneda (1925)

My uncle, Eugene Danquer-Happy Birthday, Uncle Gene!

Sandy, thanks for remembering the founder of the WRL, as well as the authors mentioned above. Some calendars just focus on actors and pop celebrities, and I get very tired of those.

Dave at Recollection Books focuses on those individuals and events you won't find listed in your daily newspaper's trivia almanac, namely: anarchists, artists, poets, radical activists, and events of genuine social significance. If that sort of thing interests you, take a look at Dave's web site calendar and click on any date of your choice. Recollection Books Daily Bleed There you go.

Clara Barton b1821 (d1912)
tromboneer Kid Ory b1886 (d1973)
Robt Ripley b1893 (d5/27/1949)
cosmetician, philanthropist Helena Rubinstein b1870 (d4/1/1965)
Anwar Sadat b1918
