Subject: Harry Robertson wikipedia page From: Tony Rees Date: 11 Oct 18 - 05:40 AM Hi all, just letting you know that I have done a fair bit of expansion on the Wikipedia page for the late Australian whaling singer and songwriter Harry Robertson as may be known to some on this forum, here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Robertson_(folk_singer), and would be very happy to receive feedback and/or any further information from those close to the relevant sources. Regards - Tony Rees, New South Wales, Australia (not that far from the Ballina of "Ballina Whalers") |

Subject: RE: Harry Robertson wikipedia page From: GUEST,JeffB Date: 11 Oct 18 - 05:31 PM Hi Tony I went to a folk session in Redlands near Brisbane in about 2005 where I had the pleasure of meeting both Rita and his long-time friend Evan Mathieson, who sang some of Harry's songs with his autoharp. Judging by your detailed bio of Harry on your Wiki page I assume you are in touch with Evan. He had made a CD of 18 of Harry's songs in 2001 (Harry's Legacy) and I'm glad to say I have one. Evan's notes include the words for the songs, a closely-written bio of Harry, and several photos. These are mostly of Harry, but I was especially pleased when I saw that they also include one (even though it is small and blurry) taken in Leith Harbour's sheltered bay of ships safely anchored ten abreast. Evan told me that the wee pot stove was there to warm up the tools, not the men. If their spanners were left on a a bench they would give them freeze burns when they picked them up, or else just freeze to the surface. Great to see a Wiki page for Harry. |

Subject: RE: Harry Robertson wikipedia page From: Tony Rees Date: 24 Sep 20 - 03:44 PM Hi, everything I could find is presently listed at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Robertson_%28folk_singer%29#Discography. There is only the one Harry LP (CD) to my knowledge, others are other musicians performing his songs... Regards - Tony |
