Ask Gifford Lind of Dunfermline FC, he should be able to help.

Hi, Laurel - I crosslinked to the Dunfermline Folk Club threads. Maybe somebody from there can help.
I don't have Rachel Harrington registered at Mudcat.

There is an American musician touring in Scotland at the moment, and I see by her itinerary that Rachel Lynn HARRINGTON was scheduled to sing in Dumferline. I was reminded that some years ago a couple of folks from there visited in California on their way to the town of Dunsmuir. We performed at an open mic in Chico at the Has Beans Coffee House.

The man was related to a fellow who was one of the founders of the town of Dunsmuir, which I believe was named after him. And the couple was on thier way there to sing at an event which was a benefit for repairing the fountain in the town....

Any one know who these folks are, and are they still on Mudcat?! In 1887, Alexander Dunsmuir, second son of British Columbian coal baron Robert Dunsmuir, was passing through the area, and was so taken with its beauty that he offered to donate a fountain to the new town, if they would rename the town in his honor. The offer was accepted, and Dunsmuir's fountain remains operational to this day, relocated to the City Park's baseball field.

I believe the Scottish couple were hosts of a bed and breakfast or self-catering cottage in Dumferline. I wanted to find out if they were still here on Mudcat! Also durious if they knew about or attended the recent performance there by Rachel Lynn Harrington.

Laurel from near Chico, California
