I stumbled across this lass the other day. I was surprised that I had never heard of her. There is only one fleeting reference to her from a Muscat search. Irish 'catters probably know her well. However, for those who have never heard her singular voice, check out this stunning rendition of 'Factory Girl' with Radie Peat of Lankum. The track is on an album to be released in October - 'Heard a Long Gone Song'.

Here is a link to one of her own compositions - 'Elvis I Give You Irish Stew'

She features quite a bit on the This Ain't No Disco documentaries as do Lankum. If I remember correctly there are 3 or 4 episodes all available on Youtube

She's great. A touch of the Margaret Barry about her.

Great song written by Irish singer Lisa O'Neill about the dockers in Dublin losing their jobs due to the employment of machinery at the docks.

It can't be easy kicking arses while playing banjo at the same time...

Years or Riverdancing practice must help greatly with balance and coordination...???

Very droll, pfr. At least, guest is the first to draw attention on this forum to this
very talented singer/songwriter. I have 2 of her albums and look forward to when her
recently-released new album becomes available here in Oz. Evidently, the CD release has sold out already from Rough Trade. For those who may be interested:

Very enjoyable stuff. Take the time to listen to a few recordings from Lisa O'Neill. There are several on YouTube.
I combined threads. Don't blame Stewie for the thread title, even though his is now the first post...
I really like the videography on the "Rock the Machine" video - and hey, it's got lighthouses.
