Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Sing Me a Song Mr. Blue From: Susanne (skw) Date: 26 Dec 99 - 05:15 PM I've come across a song by Ian Walker, 'Sing Me A Song Mr Bloom' - with a very singable chorus. Walker explains: [1987:] Mr. Bloom is a character in the film 'Twilight Zone - The Movie'. He visits homes for old people and, magically, turns them into children again! (Notes Ian Walker, 'Flying High') Could that be what you are looking for? I've got the lyrics on the sleeve and will dig them out if necessary. - Susanne |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Sing Me a Song Mr. Blue From: Wotcha Date: 31 Dec 99 - 03:26 AM Susanne: Maybe that is the song. I have listened to my "field recording" and the words I picked up are as follows: Everyday you'll find me, as the world goes rolling by, Sitting in my corner, sadness in my eyes, I'm biding [find in?] my time, when the world is in its prime Oh, wehre did you go Mr. Bloom [Bloom?] Chorus: Sing me a song Mr. Bloom You sing and I'll bounce around the room, You roll back the years, I'll hold my tears Sing me a song Mr. Bloom ... Day by day ... I know it's hard to understand ... my dancing days are gone When you came along Mr. Bloom Family and friends, I don't ever see them now ... Appreicate the help. Tis a great song about a lonely guy I guess... Cheers, Brian |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Sing Me a Song Mr. Blue From: Susanne (skw) Date: 01 Jan 00 - 02:51 PM Brian, it definitely is the same song. Just give me a few days, as I haven't yet entered it in my database. It's on the album sleeve, though. Ian Walker is a Scotsman who used to work closely with Ian Bruce, but I haven't heard his name for years now. Maybe I ought to ask Ian Bruce the next time he comes through here ... - Susanne |

Sing me a song Mr Bloom
Every day you'll find me as the world goes rolling by
I played life to the limit, I know it's hard to understand
The family and friends I knew, I never see them now
The sun came smiling from your face when you walked through my door |
