The river is blind because of its very high alcohol content, leeneia. It's a side effect of the general lifestyle in the area, given that there is not a lot to do around there except drink. :)

Yeah, the town is okay. It's a fairly typical small town in North Ontario.

Shane has ideas for improving the place, though. He wants to bring in more strippers, bar girls, that sort of thing. If he is ever elected mayor, things will definitely be done about that.

Thanks, LH. For a long time I thought that the Blind River is pretty impressive, but now I see that that body of water is Lake Huron.

Now, as for the actual river, how can a river be blind? Why is it named that?

The town isn't so bad. Have you seen YouTubes from poor countries where there is trash everywhere? So depressing! Blind River is clean and well-maintained, and the downtown buildings have businesses in them. Good job.

Some flowers might be nice, though.

Don probably does NOT know! Bad things generally happen when Shane gets behind the wheel of any kind of vehicle, and the vehicles are always "borrowed", to use a euphemism. They often end up in the ditch, the river or the lake (when it's frozen).

Yes. It is a tragic fact that the young people tend to abandon these smaller places as soon as they can and head for major centers like Toronto. Only a specially motivated few...like Shane and Don...remain faithful to their humble place of origin and help to make it the amazing cultural hub that it is, filled with a unique character all its own. There is so much to do there, like........ummm....

Here is some video footage of Shane's town, Blind River, Ontario. It only shows a few parts, but, hey....at least it's a glimpse, eh? This is the place where Shane growed up! And you get to see the famous "Liberry" that he got kicked out of several times and finally banned from (for watching porn on their computers).
