I believe the guitar actually belonged to John Lee Hooker. _____________________________________________________________________ I read that when the photographer, Burt Goldblatt, asked Muddy to pose for a picture right after he came off stage and, since he'd already put the red Tele in its case, he borrowed John Lee's archtop for the photo. |
Subject: RE: Indelible images of instruments From: GUEST,johnmc Date: 20 Feb 19 - 10:49 AM Although I alluded to a guitar at the start, I thought the thread would mention many other instruments. The focus (largely) on fretted ones suggests they have an allure denied the others -or else not many people who respond are players of other instruments. I suspect the former. |
Subject: RE: Indelible images of instruments From: GUEST,Mark Bluemel Date: 20 Feb 19 - 12:02 PM Does anyone else remember Jim Couza's Kitchen Sink (stainless steel) hammered dulcimer? He threatened to play Handel's "Water Music" but actually played something calypso-ish when I saw him - the tone was remarkably like steel pans. I can't find an online image, sadly. |
