Hi Jim - keeping well I hope.

But there are about 6 Million people less than an hour away - not all Mudcatters or folkies of course but if only 0.00001% are maybe they should know.

Thanks Dick - keep up the good work!

Thought I would refresh this to check if there are any mudcatters interested in traditional song within an hours drive of Drax!

YTSW 2019                            Saturday Evening Concert

The Yorkshire Traditional Song Weekend held at Drax Sports & Social Club is in its’ ninth year.

This year for the first time the Saturday Evening Guest Concert will be in the Main Function Room. This will allow us to make the concert available to a wider audience.

Our featured guests this year are:-

Sylvia Barnes
Maurice Leyden
Niahm Parsons
Brian Peters
Alan & Carole Prior
Mike Wilson

The concert is on 29th June 2019 from 7:30pm to 10:00pm

Tickets are priced at £10.

Drax Club is less than five minutes drive from junction 36 off the M62. There is plenty of parking, a wide variety of food is available all day until 9:00pm together with a fully licensed bar with an excellent range of drinks plus tea and coffee.

For further details of our guests and how to get hold of tickets please email us at draxconcert@mail.com.

However you are receiving this information please feel free to share it with friends and anyone you think it would interest.

I omitted to mention on my first posting that there is an excellent campsite for tents, caravans and motorhomes with showers and toilets and disposal facilities. It costs £8 per unit per night and so if you want to not only attend a super concert but have the odd drink or several then you are welcome to take advantage of the site.

The one proviso is that you let us know in advance if you wish to camp so we can ensure the club knows about you in line with their security and insurance obligations. Please do not turn up unannounced – a quick email or call to 07900 284219 will suffice.

Thank you
