Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 03 Apr 19 - 06:55 PM Hitting me really hard. He did so much for everyone. Ron took the song I wrote and added the slide and whistle. He was a master musician and a master person. God bless you my brother. Always in my heart https://youtu.be/WaHGZTvSSE4 |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: GUEST Date: 04 Apr 19 - 08:21 AM Dan, on a beautiful, hot and sunny summer day in June 2017 a group of us who loved and admired Ron, gathered at a place he loved from childhood and movingly remembered him in words and song. Bruce gave a particularly moving remembrance. Here is a link to a clip of his musical sendoff to Ron. https://www.facebook.com/kalloosit/videos/10154451637366372/?fref=pb&hc_location=friends_tab |

Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 08:45 AM Thank you for sharing that my brother. Absolutely breaks my heart |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: Jeri Date: 04 Apr 19 - 10:01 AM I got the message that he'd died, along with the request not to put it on Mudcat. Ron was enormously talented, and enormously nice. I think if you were his friend, he'd try to get the moon for you if you really wanted it. |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 10:50 AM Yes he would. It’s just hard to find a dedication on the web and not knowing. He was a kind loving soul who enjoyed friends and music |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 10:55 AM PM would have worked really well. Ron would email me often. Then the email stopped. I thought maybe some how I offended him. Only to find out two years later we lost him. I am upset and very disappointed in mudcat |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 10:58 AM Maybe time for me to leave the forum |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 11:32 AM Now I am caught between grief and anger. In more than a decade I have seen mudcat of love and at times cruel but the love always won. It was not until this moment that I realized how cruel it can be. I am sorry I can’t do this anymore God bless you all and bless my friend Ron Rip my brother |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: Jeri Date: 04 Apr 19 - 11:59 AM Dan, It wasn't cruel, just an imperfect, grieving human thing. It was all over Facebook. I'm thinking it was an accident you didn't get notified. Just one of those "I thought YOU told him" things. I believed you'd been told, but I was wrong. I guess that's how information falls through cracks. We just need to be better at communicating. |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 07:27 PM I suppose you are right. I am just grieving and angry |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 07:49 PM Ps I am not on Facebook I am not on anything. I met Ron on mudcat. I just said goodbye to Ron on mudcat |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: Jeri Date: 04 Apr 19 - 08:20 PM Dan, I get it. I understand grieving and angry. I expected somebody else had told you. Probably everybody else thought the same thing. You get a long-distance hug if you want one. I know it won't really help, but it's yours. |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 09:34 PM I will take it my friend |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 09:53 PM Every time you talk to Ron. Oh I am ok bro. He never was the kind who wanted to worry his friends. Ron was never the kind to diasppear but I figured I either pissed him off some how or he was swamped making music. I liked it better thinking I just pissed him off somehow |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 09:54 PM I hope jt oglesby knows |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: olddude Date: 04 Apr 19 - 10:02 PM All these years here all the people I know all the email or phone calls. All the pm No one told me. It’s my fault I should have not thought he was too busy or upset. My fault not mudcat. I guess I am a lousy friend |
Subject: RE: The last song Ron Bankley From: Jeri Date: 04 Apr 19 - 10:07 PM I just found this: Ron & JT at Kentucky Fried Music Fest. Pretty tune. |
