This is the year I finally get to witness the Mystic Sea Music Festival for myself!

I know lots of Mudcatters have been involved in this in past years. Anybody participating this year, so I can be sure to catch your performance?

Any advice for a hapless new attendee?

I'll be there in a mudcat shirt. There is so much wonderful music all weekend that it is hard to go wrong no matter which workshops you go to.

I'll be there! Look for the old gal wearing a broadbrimmed blue hat with two Mystic Seaport pins and a member's sticker on it, a Friend of the Festival tag around her neck, and carrying her own folding chair.

Yikes, I hope it's not bring-your-own-chair! I'll look out for your shirts and hats, and I'll be a short oldish gal in a straw cowboy hat, at least when outside.

mg, give us a sign to look out for, if you wish!

Patty - You may want to bring a chair - I always do. There are seats at the concert venue and some around the workshops, but not enough. The village green is a beautiful venue with almost no seating other than grass. The Saturday night concert can run out of chairs, so get there early or bring a chair. I am a short oldish gal, too.

I am doing sound on the Village Green, Lady Hillary is doing the same at Lighthouse Point. She's the gorgeous blonde. I'm not.

I've met a lot of 'catters who I've known just by their tags and gotten to spend time with some of them: Chanteyranger, Radriano, Celtaddict, Gibb Sahib and others. There are more out there, I know.

This is a really star studded weekend and I am happy to participate in it.

Thanks, Susan, I did see your note in time to bring a chair to the village green set I wanted to hear, very helpful!

It was quite a fine array of music and sights, well worth a long trip to get to. It's so overwhelming I spent a lot of time just getting my sea legs and figuring out how things worked. But I did get to meet Chanteylass briefly, and experienced lots of highlights. Very special event.

i was there too and had a great time. had to cut my days' events short a couple of times due to having to get food later at night. was still on pacific time, so i did not get to visit with people i had hoped to meet up with. anyway, great time. weather could not have been better..other times i have visited it was way too hot for me. glad i could make it again.

Patty, it was nice to meet you. I'm glad you introduced yourself.

mg, did I see "Moe" there? And I'm glad you got to sit with Jon C. and talked to him. I "know" him, but I don't really know him. In fact one time he walked toward me and started to pass me but suddenly turned and said, "Aren't you Mary Garvey's friend?" I said yes and we each continued on our way.

I had not heard that Moe was there...I think Jon would have mentioned it. I heard she had been in the area recently though. Oh I do have to circulate his song..the lily of ilwaco, the rose of willapa bay..sort of funny. jon and moe are hilarious together...

Another wonderful Sea Music Festival. It almost made up the one I had to miss last year.

I have posted several albums of PIXS on Facebook Mudcat Cafe. Enjoy!

Cheerily,
Charlie Ipcar

mg, it probably wasn't Moe, then, just someone who in some way reminded me of her. I don't know her well at all.

Charlie, I'm loving your photos!
