Subject: Folk Music on US Radio From: GUEST,Iain Allan Date: 06 Aug 19 - 12:14 PM I am helping, on a voluntary basis, to promote a live album from the highly influential Scottish band, The Clutha (my dad is one of the fiddle players). It is entitled ‘Live from Harvard’ and was recorded in 1981 in the US. Notably it features the late Gordeanna McCulloch singing at her very best, placing it up there with anything ever recorded in terms of vocal technique. I feel it it a very important album in the history of folk music, especially in the context of the Scottish folk revival, and that it deserves to be heard. Can anyone suggest influential US radio stations and publications that might be receptive that I could send copies of the CD to? There is quite a daunting list with an internet search. Many thanks. |
Subject: RE: Folk Music on US Radio From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 06 Aug 19 - 07:10 PM From California KPFK (Pacifica Radio) has a strong base with five stations. (Part NPR...part BBC...they are fiercely independents but... lots of their material is canned promo "interviews." Make it easy, free and liberal and you might get air-time. https://www.kpfk.org/volunteer/ Sincerely, Gargoyle Scandals, fraud, bankruptcy, have reduced their foothold on the liberal agenda. |
Subject: RE: Folk Music on US Radio From: Thomas Stern Date: 06 Aug 19 - 08:29 PM Do you have a US distributor ?? or a site selling this CD ?? I see it listed on US Amazon available from a UK company, but overly expensive. Similarly high price if ordered through UK Amazon. Thanks, Thomas. |
