Ironicly this MOAB annex is in the civil war years.
For years the Idaho potato farmers quietly dug transgender potatos for Americans to eat but 5th Ave has essentially outed the transgender potato and is radicalizing the Idaho Potato farmer. Potato Futures are in disarray. Brexit has depressed potato exports and Ireland and China are the clear winners in this transgender Potato war of our own making.
There is a call to arms, legs and lips among Potatohead Patriots.

The electtro dynamic dipole moment to shield the Higgs field is anomolous due to its value being variably over 2 (2.00016537 .oooo1)
As simple as a magnet, the Higgs shield flows from south pole to north allowing mass to travel at the speed of light. Our current attempts only work on mass ass big as several million atoms at a time but still visible to the human eye a couple microns accross. To scale up as large as a space craft a launch from empty space or a moon without an atmosphere would be necesssary.
However what makes it anomolous is that over a 8 light year trip to a nearby star we could navigationally be off by almost a month.

As seen on TV pall bearer back straps can enable just two people to bear up to 500 lbs. Does 2 straps on each person allow 2 people to lift 1,000 lbs?

Nice one, Don! I have a file in my photo directory that is large images I let rotate on my screen saver (before the computer goes to sleep). I've added that one to it. NASA has lovely large images that lend themselves well to the desktop image (I have a black background and the photo that appears on both monitor screens is the rover track on Mars taken several years ago.)

I created a very odd toll booth on the Massachuseetts Turnpike. One winter I managed a Mafioso Pizzaria. Sometimes we had left over orders at the end of the night. The most extra pizzas numbered over 30. I would would pass them on to the toll booth attendant who in turn would pass them on to people with kids who seemed hungry.

Aaaaand...my revolver lost a part at the unloading table and I had to stop, leave the match, and take it to a gunsmith. It was an easy fix, but working with a tiny screw on an outdoor table sitting on gravel isn't good for one's mechanical abilities, especially when one doesn't have the necessary tools. I wasn't charged anything, as it was a small screwdriver & loctite job (possibly a red one, not blue).

I'm reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*uck. I should have read it years ago (published 2016). It is particularly interesting in the time of COVID when a lot of people have learned some of this stuff on their own (dressing for comfort, not for style, stop with the makeup, not doing as many things like hair color, fancy nails, etc. - basically, don't give a fuck about fashion) and just living in their bodies and their homes comfortably.

It should have been required reading before I retired, when the new dean came in; maybe a lot of us would have figured out how to dismiss her BS without raising blood pressure over her nonsense. :)

I got the book full of exploded diagrams of vintage sewing machines, along with a lot of descriptions of how to fix various problems they develop. I can see why it's in such demand. Thank goodness for ILL.

Then, on Sunday last, our in-home network up and died dead. Yup, the router (18 months or so old!) kicked the bucket. So I ordered one from Costco and paid $12.25 for "expedited shipping" with an arrival on the 16th.

Nope. UPS delivered it today. Seems like there were storms in Wyoming that were delaying shipments. Mind you, this was coming from Tacoma....

I'm going to ask for the additional shipping cost back.

Fry's Electronics shut down all of it's stores around the US - if you want to shop for the corporeal version of BS, Fry's had it. The most oddball items in its inventory. But they also had a lot of modems and routers along one wall, and I will miss shopping there. For objects with no moving parts it's astonishing how quickly modems and routers die, isn't it? Planned obsolescence, illustrated.

So, not having CAT5 access to all four of the computers on the first floor I went out to buy a new 5-port switch (hub). It's installed and all is working as it should -- except Pat found another such in her magic supply closet. Oh well, the new one is 1 gig and the old one is 150 mbs. Now if I could just find those two hanks of CAT5 I remember having here in the office.... Mind you, we don't need any more CAT5, open or pinned out.

By the way, if anyone needs padlocks for firearms, let me know (they're actually pretty good locks -- Master, mostly, with cable-type shackles.) They are quite usable for anything you'd use a padlock for.

A true book weight is a sort of mild figure 8 with weights on both ends. You use it to weigh down both sides of a book when it's open. My sap looks a lot like that except it's hard leather and only one side has a weight in it.

Book weight.

Sap, blackjack sap, slapjack.

My sap is only 8.5 inches long, and being flat works well as a book weight.

In science news the lab grown and transplanted vaginas may get all the headlines but the Leptoquarks at CERN are real enough to become electrons more often than muons, hinting a new force in the universe by a tri color Boson creating a field we have not expected or predicted like the Higgs. IMO there are 8 bosons for us to explore and find out what kinds of fields and forces that we have been missing. The dark matter may be expressed in other boson force fields, who knows even gravity could be undersstood. At any rate new forces are afoot Sherlock.
We are all floating about in a quantum sea and discovering new forces/currents in this sea is a big deal. When we find out, quantum mechanics might even make sense to humans. This may be bigger than the cosmological constant and the space energy that expands more space which in turn makes more space until one day... poof...the big RIP happens and matter and energy are reduced to a lower energy level by Entropy/Shiva.

No one expected the humble little lepto quark would be the mouse that roared.
