Opal is just sand and water plus time and pressure. But they are too varied and too much like glass to be a unit of value like diamonds. Opal owners will ask absurd prices but that is true for art as well.

In China it is not illegal to cheat or steal from foreign investors.
In the alternative reality of Chinese financial companies, auditors like the Chinese Price Waterhouse and the shell companies that do a reverse merger with ghost US company it is customary to tell the Chinese state if they profited 10 million but the US is told they made 100 million. The pandemic has muddied the water of this Chinese hustle but selling all these fraud Chinese companies on the US stock market short is now making millions off the 500 billion scam.
Like musical chairs if you do you are left holding the bag when the music stops you are ******. To Americans it is total loss of retirement funds.

Odds are if you short a Chinese stock you will make money at this point
