$1,700 for a TASER® 7 CQ Home Defense Shooting Stun Gun w/ Laser Sight isn't a poor person's toy. Then you have to buy two-packs of air propellant AND more Taser reloads after each use.

For that kinda money I can buy a couple of GOOD pistols* and ammunition -- or put a a down payment on a BiPAP ST, such as was provided by the VA. Moreover, they're not all that expensive, and a factory refurb would work fine. But I take what I'm given.


*Should I want to, which I don't as I have enough firearms and ammunition for a LONG hunting trip or a small war. If I wanted to spend that sort of cash I'd buy something else entirely, like a surprise for my wife (who, BTW, inherited a .22 rifle, a 7.65mm FN 10/22, a 1917 .45 Colt Autorim Revolver, a .22 revolver, and a .22 air rifle from her father).

I have a personal theory about PTSD I don't talk about because I could be wrong. Those with a conscience-empathy suffer from PTSD and those without a conscience/empathy, glory in not having variable degrees of ptsd. The more sociopathology the less prone people are to have recurrent PTSD.
There it is, but like I say I could be wrong.
A second Capitol policeman who fought on Jan. 6th has committed suicide this month. Perhaps other factors are more important.

I do not find America irredeemable and condemned to be forever ignorant and militantly bigoted just because conservatives went off the rails for Trump.
A 'I alone can fix it!' guy is bound to come along again. We are more resiliant to mistakes time and again. We are starting to tone zealotry down. When we will see 'cancel culture' as bad as 'Trumpism' we will find a sensible balance. I see this miniscule forum an early example of larger changes to come. People do not want to live always by hatefullness and toxic invectives. The pendulum will eventually drop to the middle.

Mom, the radon test went bad. Seems like the test kit was outdated. So the local public health people sent me two and I've hung them up in two places here in the basement. The results of the first said that lab test "demonstrated the possibility of excess radon."

When she was 7 my wife helped her folks clear the lot upon which their house was built in Silver Spring, Maryland. She got a BAD case of poison ivy, so much so that she couldn't even wear shoes. Her uncle, a doctor, got her into Georgetown University Medical Center in DC. She was given several doses of whole-body x-rays and the rash cleared up nicely. (X-rays were used to treat many things, including common acne.)

Fast forward 10 years and she's all set to go off to college (in Philadelphia, of course). She has a physical and ends up again in Georgetown Med Center with thyroid cancer. She is quite annoyed that her college education was delayed six weeks. Of course, she had a total thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy with 72 lymph nodes removed and was (and is) scarred all over her throat and shoulders.

Fast forward to today. FIVE different cancers (not just locations, but types).

Don't fool with any radiation.

I'm in Silver Spring and still get poison ivy.
The biggest dose of radiation I got was from the 3 mile island initial radiation cloud release. It felt like my spine wanted to throw up.
The biggest dose my sister got was in an Army experiment of drinking 2 oz. of radioactive iodine. At the time of her death she had no digestive organs from the esophagus to the rectum. She survived on ATP alone. The Army learned people should not drink radioactive iodine.

PS If you get solar storm warnings its best to stay inside since Xrays can exceed tolerable levels outside.
