Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 25 Oct 23 - 07:46 PM They all have a price to look the other way. It might be gold or the skulls of their enemies or simply not having their home looted and burned to the ground. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 23 Oct 23 - 09:26 PM Well Mom, you know that in six day I'm flying away from this hole in the mountains. First I will visit my family in the Midwest, and then I'm flying to Norway for another session of looting and plundering. The reason I'm going to see family is to take orders for the looting, etc. But I'll be able to check in now and then, so be careful, okay? |

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod NOT Eugene Field 1850 – 1895 With a wink, Blinken Nods one night Sailed off in a metal ship,— Sailed on a river of crystal light Into a sea of Jews. "Where are you going, and what do you wish?" The old man asked with glee. "I have come WITH A NUCLEAR SUB That swims in this beautiful sea; Nets of silver and gold have we," Said Blinken And Nods. Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 23 Oct 23 - 08:44 AM I wouldn't have known if DARPA was involved but they are having a hard time finding volunteers for their 'ultimate torture' tests so they advertised in-house. This struck so many people as funny or a joke, that it got leaked. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 23 Oct 23 - 07:41 AM Wouldn't you know it, DARPA is already working on battlefield applications for bottled hell. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 23 Oct 23 - 07:23 AM Deep in the bowels of the CIA at Langly, there is an appendix lab that works on 'humane' torture. They have had a breakthrough in their development of a hybrid of Platypus venom combined with fire ant venom The unequaled pain can last from 2 days to 2 weeks. It far exceeds pulling out fingernails, breaking thumbs, or burning out eyes yet does not significantly maim or cause death. It is being promoted as a humane political tool that works better than Putin's methods. The fact that not even morphine can relieve the pain is seen as its great advantage. Technicians have nick-named it 'bottled hell'. |

Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 02 Oct 23 - 08:04 PM Ain’t been doing mucha anything, Mom.. 48F and cloudy. I still have flowers in the porch railing boxes. The Legion nailed one of the GOL’s larger battle ships last Saturday. NSA, NASA, USN, and all them sorts are freezing in the Arco Desert trying to recover something that ain’t there to find. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 22 Sep 23 - 08:16 PM Mom, that's over. Now I'm just tired. Pat's off Sunday to the ASQG meeting in Louisville, so I'll be home alone for a week. This in a status that is not unknown to me, so I'll be up at the Legion Hovel whenever I get lonely or want a beer or just want to go see what the Legionaires are up to. Should be quite a bit of action soon, what with the total eclipse providing cover to another invasion attempt by the Galactic Overlord and all that. |

Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 28 Aug 23 - 09:52 PM Hi Mom! Burned my left middle finger the other day taking a pan out of the oven. Now I have a nifty blister. Not to mention my visit to the dermatologist and the podiatrist today. Nothing major in either case. I have two doctor visits and Pat only had one!! Only she had a xray and I didn't. The Catholic Church here grabbed me and told me to teach a 45 minute class on the various ecumenical councils. This is the result of telling someone over a year ago that I thought Catholics needed to know what Vatican 2 said (lots of them seem not to know, or at least the ones I know seem to lack the knowledge). Rather than be declared anathema and never get to go into the Portneuf Valley Brewery again, I agreed to do it. Fortunately, the thing is held in said Brewery and and I have to spread the stuff for only 45 minutes while the audience swills good beer. If I get questions I can't answer I'll the asker to ask a priest instead of a retired librarian. Having given life-long-learning classes people seem to like on topics which included the role of the steamboat in opening the American West, past pandemics, two on dueling, the Second Korean War, crime in Idaho 1840-1910, and others I guess they thought I'd be a good pick. At least I'll do a better job that some of the folks here I could mention. Maybe I'll declare everyone who attends anathema maranantha and make them go to the Vatican to get it lifted. As you can tell, I've started. |

Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 Sep 23 - 01:08 PM Maybe Gluon can fix this? "Excitement" is her middle name (what's her last name?) Oops! US Space Force may have accidentally punched a hole in the upper atmosphere The surprise rocket initially caught people's eye after creating an enormous exhaust plume that could be seen from more than 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) away. But after the plume dissipated, a faint red glow remained in the sky, which is a telltale sign that the rocket created a hole in the ionosphere — the part of Earth's atmosphere where gases are ionized, which stretches between 50 and 400 miles (80 and 645 km) above Earth's surface — Spaceweather.com reported. . . .Rockets create ionospheric holes when fuel from their second stages burns in the middle part of the ionosphere, between 125 and 185 miles (200 and 300 km) above Earth's surface, Live Science previously reported. At this height, the carbon dioxide and water vapor from the rocket's exhaust cause ionized oxygen atoms to recombine, or form back into normal oxygen molecules. This process excites the molecules and leads them to emit energy in the form of light. This is similar to how auroras form, except the dancing lights are caused by solar radiation heating up gases rather than their recombination. |

Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 17 Oct 23 - 12:54 PM You see, GO's recognize our species as still intrinsically dependent on wilderness and wilderness rules. They on the other hand, living in artificial and bounded environments developed a different life plan for survival. Our mistake could be called anthropomorphic, projecting our feelings and understanding on other species. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 15 Oct 23 - 07:10 AM It is a mistake to judge the GO by human standards. The boys upstairs have very different intentions and uncontrolled impulses. An extra billion years of evolution makes a big difference. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 09 Oct 23 - 02:35 PM Furthermore, the GO do care and only understand us too well. Nearly every answer we derive eventually needs changing. The GO have seen this and even recognizes we are most invested in the mystery and not the conclusion. They have maintained the mystery for our benefit, sometimes at great sacrifice or risk. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 09 Oct 23 - 07:05 AM That is misinformation from the 1960s. GOs don't need protein. While we run on ATP Adenosine Triphosphate, They run on 110 volts. For dessert, they make a delicious iron-based mousse from cattle blood. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 08 Oct 23 - 10:29 AM Epiphaney's come in all shapes and sizes but a barrier to discovery are those without curiosity who are as good as dead. Other barriers we probably all have are self-assurance based on limited data and/or fear. Some folks do crosswords and Wordle for mental exercise, but I write therefore I am. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 07 Oct 23 - 12:17 PM Einstein experienced deep time when he felt the merging of past present and future with such awe, he called it just 'being' in the most profound sense of the word. He was so close to the missing element of physics that I suspect he was too embarrassed to admit the obvious. That sense of deep time can also be called the sacred awe. You may find it at the nexus of science and religion in an authentic consciousness. Seeing completely is a symptom of this special consciousness. You could watch a flower and a fly walking about when a hummingbird, with the wind and flutter of its wings buffeting the flower but the fly does not fly away by instinct. Instead, it stays on the flower as if it sees the hummingbird as no threat and reasons that it need not dart away. One has to look for consciousness in all life to see it. Where you see deeply you may be surprised but you are not crazy. You are just seeing with renewed eyes. What might come along with seeing deeply, no matter how big or small, can be the surprise of how unconscious some people can be. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of New Physics From: Donuel Date: 07 Oct 23 - 10:03 AM Most of us are aware that not even Einstein could unite Quantum Mechanics with General Relativity. Something fundamental was missing. For a couple hundred years smallism dominated the search to find ever more fundamental qualities of the universe. The rabbit hole of smallism is string theory and is stuck in the complexity of multiple dimensions of an unknown number. Maxwell found that electromagnetism could not be explained by the fundamentals of mass, energy and space so he sought fundamental laws for just EM. He gave us the fundamental equations that only deal with electrodynamics. In a similar way we need to apply this fundamental search for only the missing/uniting qualities of the universe. That search brings us to the crazy idea in which we are all immersed, like water is to fish. That fundamental quality is Consciousness. Some scientists cried 'This is impossible since science is objective and consciousness is subjective'. Of course, materialistic science is objective but look at the clues of quantum mechanics with all possible paths. A theory of consciousness is emerging slowly today with the help of Penrose and others but the idea has been around for a very long time. The theories so far apply to any place where information is transferred. New organelles of brain tissue are demonstrating the theory of panpsychism when two organelles fuse together on their own. |

Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 01 Oct 23 - 08:37 AM Of the 715 atmospheric nuclear 'tests', 20 were high-altitude nuclear explosions as immense as 1,400 megatons. This resulted in more cancer, atmospheric damage and some issues that have proved too controversial for some people here to believe. The EMP from one such 'test' resulted in a total blackout in Hawaii. |
