Looking for the lyrics and information for a seemingly British composed maritime/fishing song which be May entitled “7 Days”
The first line is:
It’s the north Devon winters that drive us all to sea, the cold banks, searching for the shoals.....

And there is a refrain:
Where are you, love? Are you out there in the night? Think of me, the waiting fire still burns.

The song is on the 2003 Show of Hands album titled Country Life. With a song title as common as this, I can't find the name of the songwriter.
Anybody know who wrote the song?

Based on the above and the recording, here's my attempt to polish up the transcription. There's several parts that are debatable.

As far as I can tell Joe, the only difference with the linked recording is in your line 6 - there's no and after haul.
