Merde. I posted an update but it seems to have disappeared or not "taken".

Tonight is a screening of Dave Hallowell's short tribute film "Tom Hall - Musical Life, Musical Community" at the Portsmouth [NH] Athenaeum at 7p.m. Besides the film, there will be songs and reminisces by some of the people who were influenced and mentored by him. Tom Hall, lest you forget, is Mudcat's "Curnudgeon", my late husband, founder of the legendary Press Room sessions who helmed the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival for many years until his death in 2013.

Tomorrow night (Friday, September 27th)is the traditional unofficial PMFF kickoff session downstairs at the Thirsty Moose Taphouse on Congress Street, Portsmouth, from 4:30-8:00.

The festival is, of course, this weekend, Saturday, September 28, and Sunday, September 29. PMFF

The film will be shown again (with the attendant stories and songs) on Sunday, September 29th, at 1 p.m. upstairs at The Press Room.

You still have time.

Elizabeth Warren?! I don't think any of us locals knew she was here! We don't get that many Mass politicians, so she would have been noticeable.
(Or maybe I was the only one who didn't know. Possible.)

I'm coming from Princeton BC, where our traditional music festival ended last week. Looking forward to seeing Bruce McIntyre and Jeff Warner, who graced our festival a couple of years back, and Peter and Audi Souza -the most fun to sing with!

Thanks, Linn, for all you have done. Such a lot of work- wish we could have gotten things off the ground in Bath, lo those many years ago

Good on ya! J&F

Jon-

It would be great to see you!

This will be great fun, and lots of opportunities to sing along or lead a song yourself.

I'm honored to be one of the featured performed this year as well.

Cheerily,
Charlie Ipcar

The official dates of the festival are Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th.

I supposed I should have included that in the original post above, but I'm juggling too many things this morning.

This will be the Twentieth Annual and LAST Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival (PMFF).

We've had a great twenty year run, but all good things must come to an end. We hope this year's festival will be the best yet.

First event will be Thursday, September 26th at the Portsmouth Athenaeum -- a screening of Dave Hallowell's wonderful biographical film about Tom Hall's (Mudcat's Curmudgeon) musical influence on the PMFF and the folk music community in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. There will also be songs and stories. Tom took over the helm of the festival in 2005 and captained it until his death in 2013. Tom Hall Tribute

On Friday, September 27th here will be the Unofficial PMFF Kick-off Maritime Session downstairs at the Thirsty Moose Taphouse on Congress Street in Portsmouth, 4:30-8:30, which should again be grand vocal fun with regulars, out of town singers, and festival performers. We’ll make those rafters roar!

The full schedule for this year's Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival is at 2019 Schedule

All events are free and are in venues in and around Market Square, Portsmouth, NH. There will be a concert on Saturday evening, September 28th, for which there is a $5 suggested donation.

There -- I THINK I've listed everything!

Linn
