this is one of my all time favorite thread concepts (thanks Bert!). it's been a while, so let's do it again, eh?

what are the songs you've performed most recently?

mine are:
There Were Roses -- by Tommy Sands (but with different names; don't know who changed 'em)
The Family Reserve -- by Lyle Lovett
Morningtime/Home Sweet Home -- by Metamora / trad.
Rovin' Gambler
Devil vs. Widow -- by Mick Ryan
Carrigdhoun -- lyrics by Dennis Lane, air trad.
Johnny Sands
She Mov'd Through the Faire
Auld Lang Syne -- Tannahill Weavers version (and yes, at least some of those verses are by Robert Burns)
La Llorona

Last Wednesday at Bagatelle, 12 St. Marks Place NYC
Yvette s song, one I wrote about forced assimilation of Candaian Natives...
Bread and Roses... my version of the Sands song there were roses, about the murder of a Czech gypsy mother in Prauge
The death of Queen Jane ... goes nice with Uilleann pipes.
Tom of Bedlam... kids are great... for pies
Jolly Soldier... what else can you play before Blarney Pilgrim..

and the rest was instrumental (other than Mary Shannons songs)
And remember folks, you can catch Sorcha Dorcha every Wednesday at Bagatelle, 12 Saint Marks Place NYC 8pm - not a comercial, but since you asked about the last few songs...
Excuse the blatent comercialism...
Happy new year
Larry

Oh man, Victoria, is "Norland Wind" a good song! Sometimes it makes me want to cry! At times I honestly feel like an exiled Scotsman "deein' for the north"! There's so much energy and emotion packed in music and the mere four stanzas. I sing it everywhere, in the shower, while walking to class, and even in my Design class!
