I had a bunch of country and western songs (we got both kinds!) that were taped for me in 1979 by my sister overseas, so the music was all older than that. You know the song that says I held her while the guitars played the Bonaparte's Retreat. Then the singer shouts Guitars! And the guitars play.
Well, I am trying to remember a song where the singer shouts Everybody solo! And they do.
Help? The google was not useful here.

Thanks but not that one. Seems much much later and the voice was way more Southern, like Charlie Daniels. I found that one on the google too... But thanks! Appreciate!

That is totally the one I was thinking about that this one that I'm looking for isn't. Hope that made sense. But he says Everybody, at the end, not Everybody solo (in a strong southern drawl) more in the middle. But thanks, I couldn't remember the other one either. Kinda surprised it was Glen Campbell, I think of him as more trickly-sweeter than that.

I was just looking for this also, but I knew it wasn't The Boss... and it may not be what you thought of either, buuuut..

Reel Big Fish did a song called "(Let's Go) Smoke Some Pot" to the basic beat of Let's Go To The Hop, and towards the end the singer yells EVERYBODY SOLO! Check it out and lemme know if its what you remembered also :)

One song I know of with the "Everybody solo" is Let's go smoke some pot by Dash, RIP, Rock. It's more early to mid 90's, so they may have ripped it off from an earlier song.

Dash Rip Rock was the matinee idol from the Beverly Hillbillies who was pursuing Ellie Mae.

Mrrzy, can you provide any more details? Anything helps. Country/southern rock? Or more country? Western Swing? Genre helps. How old the recording is, age of singer, instruments involved, what the voice sounded like (or other similar-sounding artists).
