Subject: RE: Anyone know who wrote this? From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 26 Sep 19 - 03:17 PM The full text can be found here What Would This Broad Earth Be?. Source is give (I think) as Journal, Londonderry. The publication is The Searchlight (Pearson's Monthly), September, 1892. The editor's description of the magazine (1st text page) is to embody in a more permanent form a monthly selection of such matter, such matter being previously defined as interesting literary work of the day appears in the newspapers to suffer premature cremation between the bars of the grate, or to serve as a wrapper for cheese and candles. I think you can assume it appeared in a Londonderry paper in late 1892. Mick |
