WINTER SONG TO THE GODDESS

How can I find the lyrics from sages
To bring forth the light, with words in a rhyme? How shall I be a bard to the ages
Singing the songs of all souls and times?

For thine is the sun or a moon waiting full
Thine is the drum, the flute and the pipes
Thine are the melodies sung by a gull
Thine is the fruit of the vine, grown ripe.

How can I touch the waters which flow
From time, and her sands washing ashore? Of winds that move through the pages of lore?

For thine is the forest of stars spread like a fan
O'er the tree tops, flying with birds
Thine is the dawn of a snowfall on oceans
Thine is the music which must ever be heard.

It's late, I'm running on four hours sleep, sorry for the fawk up; here's the corrected version:

WINTER SONG TO THE GODDESS

How can I find the lyrics from sages
To bring forth the light, with words in a rhyme?
How shall I be a bard to the ages
Singing the songs of all souls and times?

For thine is the sun or a moon waxing full
Thine is the drum, the flute, and the pipes
Thine are the melodies sung by a gull
Thine is the fruit of the vine, grown ripe.

How can I touch the waters which flow
From time and her sands washing ashore?
How can I look through the opening window
Of winds that move through the pages of lore?

For thine is the forest, or stars spread like a fan
O'er the tree tops, flying with birds
Thine is the dawn, or a snowfall on oceans
Thine is the music which must ever be heard.

Beautiful, is there a tune that fits it?

That's what I was wondering, too. I was cleaning out a Christmas box and found it on a card my friend sent me a few years ago. As far as I know she got it from a book, so I don't think there is a tune associated with it.

Thanks,

kat

Called my friend, she couldn't remember, offhand, where she got it, but will look around. She just moved recently and doesn't have all of her books handy just yet. Will keep you posted.

Thanks,

kat
