I have to apologize for mishearing the interviewer. Her math was fine. I still think from a vantage point of not having a clear idea of the report that the interview could have been better at clarifying issues rather than confronting someone who was maybe not master of the facts, a very poor 'spin' meister, or on personal autopilot.

Why couldn't someone establish: X: The number of nurses currently on staff. And Y: The target number of nurses at the future point under concern. Y-X= therefore the 'MORE' under discussion, and by the way, there are Z who would under normal circumstances resign, transfer, or retire out of the system that are to be countered by retention policy?

Even the interviewers seemed to be stressed beyond common sense in simply establishing the facts so that the viewers could learn something. I think one of the interviewers even suggested that the difference was 41000 which was an error of ten thousand.

Very frustrating on all sides.
