Tune Req: Shetland ABC format tunes

I am looking for Shetland tunes in ABC format (not tunes about small horses). So fat I have about 70. Does anybody have some that I can add to my collection?

Do you mean dance tunes, or tunes for songs? One of my planned projects for early this year is to focus on Shetland songs not in the MUdcat database. This will take me some time though. Regards, John

You could try this page http://www.leeds.ac.uk/music/Info/RRTuneBk/search/searchform.html in Richard Robertson's Tune Book and do a search for all Shetland tunes. There might be some for you to add to you collection there.

Also, the ABC Homepage http://www.gre.ac.uk/~c.walshaw/abc/ may have links to specific collections of Shetland tunes. I can't get in to find out at the moment.

I play with the LITMA (Long Island Traditonal Music association) Contra Dance Ochestra. I am looking more for tunes than I am songs, but songs are fine. My goal is to print out a booklet of these tunes for friends. What we usually paly are jigs reels polkas and waltzs. I wouldn't mind adding some other things, haulings martches flings slipjigs etc.

Any help is apreciated.
