Subject: RE: Delta Blues Dulcimer Revival From: leeneia Date: 12 Jan 20 - 10:51 PM I play it, but I've never played the blues on it. Sad to say, I've had to take a break from it for a while, (hand problems) but in my prime I had 165 songs on my list of tunes I could play. A couple years ago I could play tunes from 'Go Tell Aunt Rhodie' to 'Scheherazade.' Best wishes for your enterprise and your festival. |

Make sure to record and share some of it here if possible. Unfortunately I don't play any dulcimer and won't be able to attend your camp, but good luck with it! Looks very neat |
Subject: Delta Blues Dulcimer Revival From: Adrian-Carla Date: 10 Jan 20 - 10:15 PM Hi there, I am a new member here at Mudcat. I am an Australian, married to a gal with roots in kentucky, and together, we share a passion for all things Mountain Dulcimer. We have a place in Mississippi we have revitalised, called "The Holy Moly", an old masonic temple, that is now our home, and also acts a as a venue for our immersive music camps. The Blues, and many roots based genres, go hand in hand with this instrument, and we are celebrating the connection with our first annual "Delta Bues Dulcimer Revival". It will be held in Clarksdale Mississippi, in the historic downtown blues precinct, and known as the birthplace of the blues. Information about the instructors/venue/hosts etc can be found at www.deltabluesdulcimerrevival.com Does anyone here on Mudcat play the Dulcimer? |
