The milk truck hauls the sun up Paper hits my door The traffic shakes my floor and I think about you Time to face the dawning gray And it's so hard, it's so hard It's so hard livin without you Now everyone has something They're all tryin to get some more They've got something to get up for-I ain't about to Cause nothin's gonna happen Nothin's gonna change And it's so hard livin without you chorus |

Subject: RE: Help: So Hard Living Without You From: harpgirl Date: 04 Jan 00 - 08:16 AM ...really...I heard Mary sing it and it is on her album but I didn't realize Randy wrote it!...I sit corrected! |
Subject: RE: Help: So Hard Living Without You From: kayguitars Date: 03 Jan 00 - 11:36 PM Yep, it's true - Randy Newman wrote "Living Without You". The version I'm familiar with was recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on "Uncle Charlie and His Dog Teddy", and credits Randy Newman as the songwriter. |
Subject: RE: Help: So Hard Living Without You From: john c Date: 03 Jan 00 - 11:29 PM Hate to contradict harpgirl, but Living Without You is most definatly a song by Randy Newman on his live record from 1970 or thereabouts. Great record it is, too. J. |
Subject: RE: Help: So Hard Living Without You From: harpgirl Date: 03 Jan 00 - 10:53 PM Margaret, This is a Mary McCaslin song....Check out her web site for lyrics or I can send them along if you can't find them. "Milk truck calls the sun up, paper hits my door....etc" a depression song... |
Subject: Help: So Hard Living Without You From: margaret Date: 03 Jan 00 - 10:26 PM I'm trying to track down a song that's distant and fragmented in my memory. I don't know who wrote or sang it, but it went something very vaguely like this: Daybreak and the sun-up The paper hits the door The subway shakes the floor And I think about you Chorus: It's so hard, it's so hard, it's so hard Living without you I don't know if this is recognizable as such. Help? Thanks! Margaret |
