Failing any further progress on finding the missing eps. these are some of what we have:

https://ulozto.net/hledej?type=audios&q=lfsc

Enjoy.

We are missing episode 28 - which features: The North West Three, Kathie MacDonald, Trevor Lucas, The Chiltern Ramblers.

Also we are some items short of ep. 31 and 39

The files can be downloaded for free using the 'Slow Download' option.

I clicked the blicky. It opens to a page where if one wishes, one can 'slow download' whatever is there (which is all kind of unclear). I'd suggest that until a moderator looks into the site and the poster, it would be wise to emulate Mr MacKenzie.

Its safe - we've been using it for years. Its based in the Czech Republic. Its a great site for uploading all kinds of stuff (non-porn) and currently seems to be immune from BBC takedown notices.

It is a cloud site, but does not stream and does not share via torrents.

There is a huge store of Dads Army, Clitheroe Kid, and other Beeb comedy programmes. These have been uploaded by various OTR fans and researchers. Currently we are researching and restoring Lines from my Grandfather's Forehead. The elusive S01E01 has just been uploaded. Search for 'lines'

All files are available for free downloading - although you have to choose 'Slow Download.' For 'fast' downloading you have to pay - that's their business model.

BTW you do not have to register to download files. But thats free and allows you to add comments to file descriptions

The LFSC files have been part of a 40-year rescue and restoration project covering BFBS, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA. This culminated a few years ago when 13 trans' discs appeared on eBay. These were purchased for £800. It is these that have been uploaded to https://ulozto.net/hledej?type=audios&q=lfsc in FLAC format.

They are also available on pCloud but at MP3 320kbps.

Meanwhile there are programmes 14 to 39 to consider. We have most of them. No 28 is missing - it was never aired. We know of only one copy. It is not available for the project. Some of the programmes are missing items - they are the ones that are short from the usual 43 mins.

BTW if you search for LFSC and then click on one of the files you will see the track listing for that programme. Click on the " . . . ." to expand the text downwards.

Trying to keep a low profile on this. We have 13 Country Meets Folk and 13 Folkweaves to come.

For what it's worth, I have started looking at them, and have saved several.... and although it says 'slow download' will be about 24 min., It has been almost exactly half that here. Maybe it's just my connection, but it helps.

Listened to #1 and it seemed like decent quality, although it sure is mid-60s style.

I might even convert them to MP3s sometime, just to save space.

I am still searching for this programme:

"A CELLAR FULL OF FOLK', with Leroy van Dyke; The HALLIARD; CLIFF AUNGIER sings & introduces on record, PETER, Paul, AND Mary. Produced by Ian Grant. Light programme, Saturday 4 March, 1967, 17.31"(© BBC Genome).

The programme was lost in the BBC's 'Great Delete'. It was The Halliard's first radio broadcast. I have tracked down, with much help from some dedicated individuals, every other programme that featured The Halliard with the exception of the above.

                                     Nigel Paterson (Mandolin, The Halliard).

Only one Cellar Full of Folk has ever been discovered (I think from Radio Jottings - see website / blog). It is the last one ever. It is here:

Thank you, SB, your reply is appreciated. I've tried to adopt the 'never say never' principle, but with each passing year, the likelihood of a copy surfacing must be fast approaching zero...just realised, if my maths are correct, next Wednesday will be the 53rd anniversary of the 1967 broadcast.
