After the rule of six came into force;

- Johnnie of Braidislee got to carry on poaching since it would have taken seven foresters to get him

- Clerk Saunders was left to carry on shagging Lady Margaret since that seventh brother didn't join in

- they had to leave Uncle Tom Cobley behind when going to Widecombe Fair.

Others?

The root song here is Those Were The Days.

Once upon a time we had a culture
Full of lots of good, fun things to do
My favorite was singing songs together
Now that’s gone and left me feeling blue

Those were the days my friends, we thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
We’d live the life we choose, we’d sit and chat and schmoose
For we were blind to what would come our way
        Lai, lai, lai, etc.

Back then we loved to eat and drink together
See the kids and say, “My, how they’ve grown!”
We’re older now and certainly more frightened
Having to spend our time alone

Now we’re all afraid to get together
Sacred that we’ll contact the Covid germs
Our elders’ generation is now passing
Reminding us we’ll all be food for worms

This is based on Ry Cooder's version of Fiddlin' John Carson's The Farmer Is The Man Who Feeds Them All.

We quarantined through springtime, through summer, and through fall
But that virus worked the hardest and longest of us all
It worked through nights and Sundays, it worked each holiday
It settled down among us and never went away

When that virus came to town, it knocked us all right down
Oh, that Covid-19 could get us all
If you’ll only look and see, I know you will agree
That the virus could really get us all

The virus is the one, just look at what it’s done
That virus is the one to get us all
It gets us where we breathe, we can’t get no relief
That virus is the one to kill us all

The first few started coughing, then they couldn’t catch their breath
To the hospitals they went for help where many found their death
Some folks did get better, but then some more fell ill
Then the trickle turned to avalanche and then things went to hell

They came in by the hundreds, by the thousands, and then more
But not enough were tested so we didn’t know the score
How many were infected, how do we stem the flow?
The president decided that he didn’t want to know

Apologies if this has already been shared.

I stumbled across this one, from Australia:

Stay the Fuck at Home

Chris Franklin & The Isolators

When digging this up on YouTube I found a second version, same title but it seems to be a lot shorter - the Australian one evidently repeats because of so many performers.

Another Dominic Cummings song, by Grant Simpson from the band, North Sea Gas (which I did post on another thread):

Cummings Went to Barnard Castle
(Tune: Willie’s gane tae Melville Castle)

Oh Cummings went to Barnard Castle
Wife and son an' a'
To test his eyes and tell some lies
Whilst spreading Co-ro-na
Cummings and these other toffs
Can do just as they please
Stay at home is not for them
Let’s go spread some disease...

The first day, well he felt quite rough
Perhaps it's just the flu
It can’t be this Covid 19
That's for the many, not the few
The second day it was quite clear
That something wasn't right
"To hell with this, let's drive up north.
Get away from all this shite."

He grabbed his wife, his son as well
And packed up his big car
We must away and isolate
But Durham is quite far
The rules are there, we cannot go
But to us, they don’t apply
We're rich, we do just what we want
If caught, we'll simply lie.

Afterwards in London Town
There was a big stramash
An interview in Downing Street
A bloody great car crash
We'll blame the press, we'll blame the plebs
We'll fight them, wait and see
And if they still won't go away
I'll bribe the BBC!

The men who looked down on us
As they told us what to do
Now they topple daily
But, me, I fell for you

There's danger in the air
It's out of sight and out of view
But we can find a bubble
Where there's room enough for two

A song that I was going to call 'Cummings and Goings', but that might be too pointed, so I'll just call it 21st Century Broadside Ballad.

'Twas on a Monday morning, when I beheld my darling,
She really looked alarming and she had a high degree.
She looked so pale and weary, so I thought I'd best say cheerio.
Dashing along the motorway to drive my cares away.

'Twas on a Tuesday morning, when I beheld my darling,
She looked a little better so I thought I would go home.
She still looked pale and weary-o, but nothing like as bleary-o.
Dashing along the motorway to drive my cares away.

'Twas on a Wednesday morning, I felt an idea forming,
We'd go and see the family, it's just a little trip.
We'd go and have a heart to heart, albeit from six feet apart.
Dashing along the motorway to drive my cares away.

'Twas on a Thursday morning, just as the day was dawning,
The papers brought a warning that all was not OK.
They said I should have stayed at home, and left my family alone.
Dashing along the motorway to drive my cares away.

'Twas on a Friday morning I spoke unto my darling
And said we should be going home if I could see to drive.
I thought a local trip was best to see if I would pass the test.
Dashing along the 688 to drive my cares away.

'Twas on a Saturday evening, as through the traffic weaving,
I thought we'd make it home for tea if we could just press on.
But journalists were everywhere, it really wasn't very fair.
Crawling along the London streets to drive my cares away.

'Twas on a Sunday morning I went into the garden
And told them why I'd done it but they really weren't impressed.
And so I left them to it, for I certainly don't rue it.
Helping to run the government just drives my cares away.

(Tune: Dashing away with the smoothing iron)

Hopefully the relevance has not entirely passed.

The Streets of Manhattan
(Sing to the tune of “The Streets of Laredo” or the modified melody recorded by Lynette Hensley)

1. One morning while walking the streets of Manhattan,
The season was spring and the weather was fair.
I encountered a woman in a white linen lab coat,
Sweating with fever and gasping for air.

2. “You can see by my outfit that I am a doctor,”
These words she did say with a tear in her eye.
“Please keep your distance but stay here beside me
For I’ve got the virus and I know I will die.”

3. “Please say goodbye to my husband and children,
To my friends and companions, and also my folks.
Tell them that someone - that someone was lying
When he said the virus was only a hoax – yes…”

4. “The President told us we need not be fearful
His advisors stood ‘round him and nodded their heads,
But we ran out of masks for the doctors and nurses,
and we ran out of gowns and we ran out of beds.”

5. “Throughout our country the governors pleaded,
’Please send us supplies, we can’t fight this alone.’”
“The reply from a White House devoid of compassion
was ’I’m not your shipping clerk, you’re on your own.’”

6. “The CDC told us ’reuse your equipment…’”
“They said it was safe, but I didn’t agree.
Still l had to do what I could for each patient,
and the one I could not do the best for was me.”

7. Think of me kindly and comfort my family
And promise you’ll tell them, ‘cause I don’t have long.
That these are the words that I want on my tombstone:
"'She did what was right and she knew what was wrong.’”

8. Keeping my distance, I dialed nine-eleven
But before they could get there – she passed away.
And she wasn’t alone, there were more than eight hundred
Who died in Manhattan from the virus that day.

9. One morning while walking the streets of Manhattan,
The season was spring and the weather was fair.
I encountered a woman in a white linen lab coat,
Sweating with fever and gasping for air.

Is the run on bags of flour, as people dream of taking up baking bread and cakes, a universal phenomenon like toilet rolls? If not, this one might not work....

Where have all the flour bags gone?
Let’s all panic now,
Where have all the flour bags gone?
All have to go,
Where have all the flour bags gone?
Gone for stockpiles every one,
When will they ever learn?
Everything takes its turn.

Where have all the stockpiles gone?
Let’s all panic now,
Where have all the stockpiles gone?
All have to go,
Where have all the stockpiles gone?
Gone to waste bins every one,
When will they ever learn?
Everything takes its turn.

Where have all the waste bins gone?
Let’s all panic now,
Where have all the waste bins gone?
All have to go,
Where have all the waste bins gone?
Gone to insects every one,
When will they ever learn?
Everything takes its turn.

Where have all the insects gone?
Let’s all panic now,
Where have all the insects gone?
All have to go,
Where have all the insects gone?
Gone to young bats every one,
When will they ever learn?
Everything takes its turn.

Where have all the young bats gone?
Let’s all panic now,
Where have all the young bats gone?
All have to go,
Where have all the young bats gone?
Gone on menus every one,
When will they ever learn?
Everything takes its turn.

Where have all the menus gone?
Let’s all panic now,
Where have all the menus gone?
All have to go,
Where have all the menus gone?
Gone for recykes every one,
When will they ever learn?
Everything takes its turn.

Where have all the recykes gone?
Let’s all panic now,
Where have all the recykes gone?
All have to go,
Where have all the recykes gone?
Gone for flour bags every one,
When will they ever learn?
Everything takes its turn.

Lyrics:

Rainy day livin’ #2 and 17

You can catch it when you’re at the grocery store
You can catch it off the handle of a door
You can catch it from your friend just dropping by
You can catch it like a baseball from the sky
I know you feel so all alone
But everybody must stay home

You can get it if you’ve got the Memphis blues
You can get it you’ve got nothin to lose
You can get it if you’ve got the name Abraham
You can get it if you are the weatherman
I know you feel so all alone
But everybody must stay home

You could get it off the Parkin meetahs
You could Get it from hanging around the theatahs
You could get it if your name is Joan Baez
You could get it and then give it to the prez
I know you feel so all alone
But everybody must stay home

You might shake hands thinking you are brave
But you won’t be when you're set down in your grave
You might shake it like you shake your tambourine
You might shake it with bob Dylan in his dream
Well I know you feel so all alone
But everybody must stay home

Dont you go out to Maggies farm no more
You better scrub your hands like they made you scrub the floor
Dont bring those cracked lips any closer there Ramona
Dont share a beer especially a corona
I know you feel so all alone
But everybody must stay home

Subject: ADD: Ray Frank Coronavirus Song
From: Joe Offer
Date: 06 May 20 - 07:19 PM

Here's a good one, written and posted by Ray Frank (DADGBE)

This came to me today in a fit of either divine inspiration or something else. If you don’t recognize the tune, look up Woody Guthrie’s So Long It’s Been Good To Know Ya.

Anybody want to use it, go ahead. If y’all want too pay something, send toilet paper.

TITLE
(Ray Frank)

Well, the covid hit and it hit like thunder
It dusted us over, put us six feet under,
It blocked out our jobs and ended our fun
And straight for home all the people did run
Singing so long, it’s been good to know ya,
So long it’s been good to know ya
So long, it’s been good to know ya
This nasty old covid is getting me down
And I want to be drifting along

We stayed in our houses, we sealed up the cracks
We wore masks and gloves, stuffed our ears with wax
We blamed the Chinese, we blamed Democrats
And those covidiot protesters sure have our backs

The churches were full, the churches were packed
And that dirty old covid made such an attack
That the Blood of the Lamb didn’t give us no help
In spite all that the preachers do yelp

I wash my hands ‘til my skin starts to crack,
I break out in cold sweat over sneezes and hacks,
I can’t get no nookie, I can’t get no hug
I’m just too afraid of that corona bug

We can’t wipe our asses, we can’t get no food,
The president tells us that everything’s good,
He says he’s got it all under control
But somehow, I don’t seem to trust him at all

Listen to the tv and the radio

Wash your face; keep your hands clean
Keep six feet apart; you know what I mean

David Ingerson sang this tonight. I hope he'll come and clean it up

Tune: Lanigan's Ball

In the town of Wuhan some germs from an animal made a big leap and infected a few, nobody thought it would be a pandemic and now the whole world is in a hullabaloo.

It didn't take long for the germs to go global in planes and trains and cruises by sea. Now locked in our homes and trying to stay sober we can't even watch the live sports on TV.

Six long months in Isolation, six long months doing nothing at all, six long months in isolation this lockdown is driving me up the wall.

I tried to go out got sent back in again. I went out again straight back in again. Sick to death of the social distancing finish the lockdown for once and for all.

The experts say keep two meters distance and never to gather in couples and groups, and eating at home is a feckin disaster I’m fat as a fool eating pasta and soups.

Now in the UK the virus was active and got the Prime Minister in number 10, I hope Boris Johnson recovers completely so that we can call him a dickhead again.

Six long months in isolation six long months without toilet roll. I wish to God I had constipation because I have nothing for wiping me hole.

I tried to go out got sent back in again. I went out again straight back in again. Sick to death of the social distancing finish the lockdown for once and for all.

Now Trump took it lightly there's no need to panic we’re under control sure tis only a flu he finally did what he promised the voters America first in the infections too.

Three long years with Trump as president three long years doing nothing at all talking shite and blaming China while Mexico begs him to finish the wall.

I tried to go out got sent back in again. I went out again straight back in again. Sick to death of the social distancing finish the lockdown for once and for all.

The end is in sight and the curve it is flattening lifting the lockdown is yet to be seen, washing your hands and staying at home is the only solution for COVID 19.

Six long months in isolation the planet has never looked greener before but back to the grind to pay off the mortgage. The world just won't be the same anymore.

In draft for the Shiny Bum Singers:

Kill the Lot - to Que Sera, Sera

When I was just a junior bug
I asked the old ones “How should I go?
Should I spare young ones, old, and the sick?”
But they all told me – “No”.

Chorus:
Kill the lot, the lot
Before there’s a vaccine shot
Though you think it’s cruel, it’s not
Kill the lot, the lot!

If they are young and doing well
Soon they’ll have seen as older ones fell,
That left without them life would be hell –
Better to kill the lot.

If they are old, their time is done
They’ve had their chances, time in the sun,
Now they can give us young bugs some fun –
Better to kill the lot.

If they are sick, or doing poor
They’ll use resources others need more,
And they’ll soon fill the hospital floor -
Better to kill the lot.

Just A Number Now

A vacation in a foreign land
Airlines do the best they can
You're just a number now
Oh, oh, You're just a number now
Now you remember what the TV said
Nothing to do all day but stay in bed
You're just a number now
Oh, oh, you're on the frontline now
You'll be the hero of the neighbourhood
Nobody knows that you've left for good
You're just a number now
Oh, oh, You're just a number now
Smiling faces as you wait to land
But once you're there who gives a damn
You're just a number now
Oh, oh, You're just a number now
You have gloves and masks nd maybe a hood
One mistake and you're gone for good
If you want to survive, just stay in bed
You're just a number now
Oh, oh, You're just a number now
There is no cure until the end
You go for a drive and try to pretend
You're NOT a number now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, You're just a number now
You've got your orders to stay indoors
Your hands's on your phone
But it don't seem right
You're feelin sick
or is it just a trick
Oh, oh, You're just a number now
Oh, oh, were all in the same boat now
Night is falling and you just can't see
Is this illusion or reality
Some don't want to believe TV
You're just a number now.

or how long
We'll meet again when Covid's gone.
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Till the blue skies drive the 4 walls far away
So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won't be long
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song...

I've come across two newly composed Corona virus songs in Irish. One is a translation of a new song in English, the other is set to the tune of Téir abhaile riú and you can find those lyrics at the Mudcat thread Teir Abhaile Riú or on youtube as "Fan sa bhaile riú".

The other song doesn't fit the traditional/folk mode but it comes with a challenge to you to translate into other languages: "Brí Carr Music

Well, because the message shared in our school Covid-19 song, 'Our song of hope' has grabbed the nation, and it's simplicity has taken us all by complete surprise, we are inviting children and schools from every corner of the world to create their own language version of Our Song Of Hope to share their own art and home-school/#StayAtHome ideas to YouTube and everywhere online. Our Song Of Hope will be available for download on Spotify/iTunes/Amazon and all the usual online music platforms from Fri. 10th April.

The backing track to the song is available to whoever wishes to take up the challenge worldwide. Simply contact bricarrmusic@yahoo.com and we will happily forward the English lyrics for you to translate as well as the original backing track to your school/music group/co-ordinator as well as a 'how to record at home' instructions sheet to encourage the children to productively engage in our very positive project. We will kickstart the challenge by uploading this, our native language version, as Gaeilge.. 'Ámhrán Dúchais', by the children of Lurgybrack National School, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, feat. Hannah NicPhaidín (An t-Oireachtas Winner U-15), arranged by ValleyMusic Music Studio, Ballybofey, written by myself, Brí Carr. Thanks to Ava and Cassie for designing the crest, to Nicolette Culloo for the cover design and Colm Ferriter for his invaluable help with the translation. We also hope that this further inspires other schools in Ireland will get in touch with us . We were delighted to receive both musical and vocal versions, thank you for crediting Lurgybrack School with your fantastic efforts. We hope to calm the minds, hearts and experiences of all children during these worrying times, and I want to personally thank each and every one of our wee superstars who worked tirelessly to create this memorable work. I could not be prouder of you all. Stay at home, Stay Safe and Stay Positive."

I was a sceptic...and became a believer Friday de 13th.

A major song that keeps a refrain in my brain is:

When the lights go on again
https://mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=10366#1522828

WHEN THE LIGHTS GO ON AGAIN (ALL OVER THE WORLD)
by Eddie Seiler, Sol Marcus, Bennie Benjemen, ©1942
As sung by Vaughn Monroe

*When the lights go on again all over the world,
And the boys are home again all over the world,
And rain or snow is all that may fall from the skies above,
A kiss won't mean "goodbye" but "Hello" to love.

When the lights go on again all over the world,
And the ships will sail again all over the world,
Then we'll have time for things like wedding rings and free hearts will sing,
When the lights go on again all over the world.

Sincerely,
Gargoyle

Here's a cheery one fer you -
Til All The Grievin’s Done

Once we gathered here to sing
Someday we'll gather once again
Til all the grievings done
Bearing all that we have known
We’re being tested to the bone
Til all the grievings done

B part
Seems we’ve never known such loss
Death has borne us bitter cost
Grief has sometimes brought us to our knees
we’ll come with our tears
Some of us no longer here
Til all the grievings done

Light gleams in your misty eyes
Sunshine still dances in your smile
Til all the grievings done
While there’s still more tears to come
Someday we'll hold you til they’re gone
Til all the grievings done

Some losing loved ones, some losing friends
Sometimes it seems there’ll be no end
Such times as these will haunt us all our lives
But we still have our tunes and songs
Still have love that keeps us strong
Til all the grievings done

If I'm not here to sing this song
Perhaps I’ve fallen now I’m gone
Til all the grievings done
May these songs bring you release
In their wake may all know peace
Til all the grievings done

Life has offered many gifts
Some I've known here in your midst
Where rhyme and rhythm rise in blessed song
It’s an ageless legacy
Sharing music lends us strength
Til all the grievings done

Make my grave in the Trump Hotel,
Not a lowly plain, or a lofty hill;
Put it at the end of the escaltor,
On the doorstep of the great imitator .

Engrave Trump lies around my grave.
Like Arlington make sure that I stay
His shadow above my silent tomb
Would make it a place of fear & gloom.

I could rest in the noise of Fifth Avenue
On my birthday you can have free barbecue.
Try to manage a shriek of wild despair
Like a million curses in NY air.

I could not sleep if Trump went free
His dieing in prison is reason for glee
Such a cruel narcissist unfeeling beast
should be punished for his hateful beliefs.

Let my grave in the Trump Hotel help remind
how the US was fired, attacked by virus and died
One day Trump hotels will be demolished.
Maybe men like Trump will be abolished

We are now almost completely uninsured
No Obama care or employer added insurence
Little life saving equipment can be procurred
If you're old with conditions death is assured

I ask no monument, proud and high,
To arrest the gaze of the passers-by;
All that my yearning spirit craves,
Is that the unfiltered truth stays.

here is new one. tune is now officially silver threads among the gold, sung faster than bing crosby did. Might have to tweak a bit to make the rhythm work. was originally thinking another tune.

WHEN THE WORLD GETS BACK TO NORMAL

when the world gets back to normal we will say all saints be praised
we will gather in our kitchens and our voices will be raised
out of glory out of gladness out of gratitude and grief
when the world gets back to normal there will be such sweet relief

when the world gets back to normal we will revel in the air
and the windows will be open and the weather will be fair
there'll be poppycocks and roses and the flowers of design
when the world gets back to normal it will be just mostly fine

when the world gets back to normal it's a come and get it day
when the trolleys run like clockwork and the children get to play
we'll appreciate the simple things we'll make do with what we've got
when the world gets back to normal it will be better than we thought

we'll give thanks for all the nurses and the postmen and the cops
and for all the other people who went to work and never stopped
we'll remember those who lost their lives and others that were rearranged
when the world gets back to normal we'll see that everything has changed

when the world gets back to normal we will say all saints be praised
we will gather in our kitchens and our voices will be raised
out of glory out of gladness out of gratitude and grief
when the world gets back to normal there will be such sweet relief

tune: St James Infirmary (64 bars instrumental then lyrics.)

I got a case of the corona virus
Saw some nurses there
She stressed out in a long white hallway
So sweet, so scared, so fair
She let go, she let go, God bless her
from seeing all, the dead
I'm just one man in this wide wide world
But I felt, those tears, were for me
When I die I want to go to a mass grave
I won't be lone-ly there
and I'll have, my share, of tears
I got to feel, the kindness of strangers
Right up until my last chest crushing breathe
Ther'll be no social distance bout my death

The classification isn't being consistently adhered to, but I would say that this thread is mainly for newly composed songs and parodies; while the Songs for the Apocalypse discussion thread is mainly for older songs which are suitable to be sung in reference to the present pandemic crisis.

The number of relevent parodies posted on youtube is incredible. Parodies of Bomhemian Rhapsody, Over the Rainbow, Do re mi (Sound of Music, not Guthrie).

We already have two parodies of Sweet Caroline aka Deep Quarantine on this thread; well Neil Diamond has recorded a simpler one himself.

Two parodies, at least. of Joelene,
Quarantine (Joelene parody)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bA8dZgLfY0 written by Carly Burruss + Chidima Ubah

parodies of songs sung by Adele, Bee Gees (Staying inside),Proclaimers, Billy Joel, John Lennon (Imagine), Rolling Stones (I can't get no sanitizer) etc etc.

Under the sea tune

The sickest are always greener
In somebody else's State
You dream about going 'up' there
But that is a big mistake
Just look at the world around you
Right here at blue heaven's gate
Such wonderful things surround you
What is your ultimate fate?
In Quarantine
In Quarantine
Each little griever
Down with a fever
Take it from me

Up in Montana they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
The Navy's devotin'
Hospital boatin'
Docked in the bay
Out there all the folks is happy
Like hot dogs snug in their roll
The old of the land ain't happy
They sad 'cause they got a cold
But folks on the land are lucky
Those on a cruise have a worser fate
One day everyones sickly
eatin off the same ol' plates
In quarantine
In quarantine
Nobody beat us
We jus breathed dust
Stuff we can't see

Its the old folks who are on the hook
Lots of food for the young to cook
They got no troubles
Life is all bubbles
In quarantine out on the beach
In quarantine
Since life is sweet here
We got the beat here
Naturally (Naturally)

Even the doctor and the nurse
They get the surge an ride the hearse
We got the spirit
You got to hear it
Above the streets
Yeah, In quarantine
In Quarantine
playin the B ball
life is in free fall.
In Quarantine
The mail man can play
The grocers on strings
The krauts rockin' out
The agent she sings
The spanic and the black
They know where it's at
An' oh that trumpet blow
Yeah, In quarantine
In quarantine
When the projects
Begin the concert
It's music to me (It's music to me)
What do they got? A Stienway grand?
We got a hot apartment house band
Each little fam here
Know how to jam here
In quarantine
Each little bug here
Cuttin' a rug here
In quarantine
Each giant whale here
Know how to wail here
That's why it's better
Under the weather
Ya we in luck here
Stuck in New York here
in quarantine

My apologies for the anonymous posting. You may blame me for the previous infraction.

And when the SPD gigs were canceled:

When virus eyes are cryin'
And the hoarders hoardering
By the lilt of their death rattle
Know the dearly departing
When virus smiles are hidden
Under masks so glum and grey
Well i don't give a fig or a feather
'cos we're bound to succumb anyway

A bit of doggerel from my first day of the local stay at home order. There may have been drinking involved...

In my hometown there live a maid
Mark well what I do say
In my hometown there lives a maid
And she contracted CO-VAI-AID
I’ll go no more a rovin’ with you fair maid
Since COVID, oh COVID, since COVID’s been my ru-aye-in
I’ll go no more a rovin’ with you fair maid

First she coughed and then she sneezed
And now I fear I am diseased

Next came the toilet paper scare
Now I can’t wipe my derriere

Now says the mayor of our town
Get off the streets we’re shuttin’ down

Then comes a message from my boss
You’re non-essential, that’s your loss

Now all the bills are comin’ due
From the insurance, the hospital and the doctor too

When I’m dead don’t mourn for me
I can’t afford a eulogy

I’m sitting here and feeling lonesome
Got a sick note from that Boris Johnson, mm, mm
Life’s a bore now one has found
No more we go out on the town
And every neighbour’s gone to ground
In a country now that’s locking down

Home and housebound, we wail in chorus
Home and housebound
Home, where we’re isolating
Home, where there’s no escaping
Home, where no bug lies waiting
Silently for us

Now everyday we check news streams
More casualties and no vaccines, mm, mm
And every day’s the same for me
The movies and box set series
Plus dismal documentaries
At least no more soap operas to see

Tonight we’ll drink with Scrabble again
I’ll play the game but never win, mm, mm
Cos all my words are crap for me
The good tiles don’t come easily
I’m left with R, I, Zee and E
I’d win with PRIZE, but I need a P

I’m tired of this Coronavirus
If I survive all this old lockdown crisis, mm, mm
I’ll be glad of one more chance
I’ll go mad and learn to dance
I’ll party hard, so understand
From every club, I’ll be one man banned.

Yes, these songs are all very amusing the face of TrumPublican lies, disnformation, refusal & denial of reality and scientific fact which will result in the deaths of countless persons.

May I suggest Patrick Sky's "Dance Of Death"? which also speaks to the wider context of Trump's Cult & their Covid 19 bullshit - 'a clock that's shaken hard enough....'

For thet matter Pat's "Songs That Made America (AmeriKKKa?) Famous is worth a re-listen. Shows ya how far we've come in more than half a century.
