Subject: Pete Seeger on UK TV this Sunday From: Tunesmith Date: 05 Mar 20 - 03:19 PM Well, my first attempt at this item got hardly any response and so I thought I'd give it a more contemporary tile. This Sunday March 8th, Pete is on a re-run of the hit UK TV variety show "Sunday Night at the London Palladium" from 1965. I remember seeing Pete on this show but I thought that it was 1964. Anyway the appearance I recall begins with Pete playing "Freight Train". The show is on the "Talking Pictures" channel at 9pm |

His song about relishing diversity would sadly have fallen on stony ground these days, and I always found the Abi Yo-yo routine a bit tedious, but good to see banjo and finger picked twelve string on a West End stage. Note how good comic timing meant Howerd got loads of laughs whilst some of Tarbuck’s jokes fell flat. |
