Fiddlers Green:
CHORUS
Wrap me up in me oilskin and jumper
No more on the docks I'll be seen
Just tell me old shipmates
I'm taking a trip, mates
And I'll see you one day in Fiddler's Green

I timed it at 21 seconds. Hands pristine.

Here's one for those who favour the 'hands on' approach:

I've just checked and 'one green bottle standing on the wall' seems to just about do it. Is that actually a folk song?

For self isolating homesick Geordies a chorus of either "The Blaydon Races" or "Keep Your Feet Still Geordie Hinny" does the job nicely!

Surely How Can You Mend a Broken Heart should be the Bee Gees go-to for CPR?

Hmm, CPR!?

Good idea, McG of H. That means that The Bee Gees' song Stayin' Alive might be a good choice. That is the song to perform CPR because the rhythm and timing are correct, so maybe it would work for COVID 19 as well.

I switch between The Red Flag and saying an Our Father. The Internationale does well also. So does Nellie the Elephant (as well as being good when applying CPR,)

Which are the verses of Ode to Joy that people usually join in with? I'm thinking it'd make a nice handwashing song to vary Don't Fear the Reaper.

Then there's one of my favorite songs, the chorus to I Washed My Hands in Muddy Water-

I washed my hands in muddy water
I washed my hands, but they didn't come clean
I tried to do like my daddy told me, now
I must have washed my hands in a muddy stream

Thanks for this excellent idea, Gealt.
Sweet Betsy From Pike with the refrain, sung at a moderate pace will get you about 20-22 seconds of hand washing and of course you can sing other verses for variety-

Oh have you heard tell of Sweet Betsy from Pike,
Who crossed the wide prairie with her lover Ike,
Two yoke of oxen, a large yellow dog,
A tall Shanghai rooster, and a one-spotted hog.
Fol da dang did lee doo rall dee doo rall dee a.

For some silly reason they stopped comments on Facebook.

This is the place to list and share that kind of information. Facebook moves too quickly and it is lost forever to anyone else who goes looking for it later. The Facebook page is not owned by Mudcat and Max gets no advertising dollars from eyeballs that land there. It is for announcements and sharing performances (though performances on linkable sites should also be shared here under the song/performer/subject that fits it best.) Thanks for understanding. ---mudelf

Someone started a thread on Facebook and I told her she should move it over here, but she couldn't be bothered. If you go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/mudcat/ and scroll down to Debbie Dwyke's post at March 4, 5:42 that you might want to share here if you find any you particularly like.

I'm fed up singing 'Happy Birthday' and ReesMogg's suggestion, 'God Save the Queen (of England)'does not appeal. I've timed the andante chorus of the 'Wild Rover' (And it's no nay never etc.) and it works quite well.
Any other songs?
